Blush Paisley Print Maxi Dress - Banana Republic

*Today's post is in collaboration with Banana Republic.

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Tis' the season that you will find me just about living in dresses, especially long flowy maxi dresses!  Lucky for me (well and for YOU), Banana Republic has a gorgeous selection of dresses in every length like this beautiful blush colored paisley print maxi dress!

The colors are so soft, springy, & feminine (and pardon me while I continue on the blush colored EVERYTHING train) and the extra details like the side slits, the side ties, and the pockets make this dress even more of a standout!

It's perfect for work (throw on a cardi sweater or even a structured blazer like this chambray linen blazer), perfect for brunch with the girls (throw on a denim jacket and some low heel sandals), a bridal shower or a wedding, and of course it's perfect for date night (just toss on a pair of gorgeous heels and go)!

Take a moment and check out Banana Republic's new dress arrivals...they are all sooooo pretty!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your week is off to a great start!

Stepping Out for Spring with Charming Charlie

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

Often times when I think about spring florals, I think about bright, bold, colorful patterns and I must admit, that is what I'm typically drawn to.  Don't underestimate the power of a feminine classic black & white floral like this Rosie Bowtie Blouse from Charming Charlie!

If you love wearing florals but you aren't a fan of bright bold colors/prints, this is the perfect top for you.  It is light weight, flowy, and has an adorable bowtie at the neckline.  I've dressed this top down for today's look but it is also the perfect top to wear to the office or dress up for a night out on the town.

Black and white yields a blank canvas for you to play around with as much color as you would like.  I've styled this look with this gorgeous olive green buckle satchel from Charming Charlie.  I'm rather obsessed with olive green right now (did you see Wednesday's post???).   You can add any pop of color with this blouse and create a beautiful, polished, spring ready look!

What color would you pair with this floral top?!

I've also gathered some of my current Charming Charlie cravings (so many are already in my shopping cart)...see the collage below!  They have so many gorgeous spring pieces.

On another note...it's FRIDAY...we made it (insert happy dance)!  Hope you all have a wonderful day and as always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Five Sparrows Boutique Batwing Dress

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

There are many times when I sit down to write my blog post and realize that I want to tell you all just how much I LOVE something.  And I know there have been many times where I have professed my love for the dress that I was wearing but let's be honest, I'm kind of obsessed with great dresses.

Today is no different because I'm sharing with you truly how much I LOVE this comfortable batwing sleeve dress from Five Sparrows Boutique!  This dress is by far one of the most comfortable dresses that I own and it is one of those pieces that I can throw on without any thought and just go.  What's not to love about the color of this dress too?  Rust is not a common color and that's what makes me love this dress even more.

Have you fallen for this dress yet?!  If you need just a little more convincing...telling you that it is only $32 may just do the trick! ;-)

Throw on some gorgeous boots like these "Penny" boots from Tecovas, a great bag (check out this "Fast Lane" bag from Hobo), and some fun accessories and you have a chic yet simple look!

p.s I am wearing a size small...this dress is intended to fit loosely and oversized.  Embrace it and rock it ladies!

Hope you all have a great start to your week and I appreciate you taking the time to read today's post!

Nashville Welcomes American Threads

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

Urban, feminine, bohemian, street style chic are just a few words that come to mind when describing  American Threads.  Their pieces are uniquely gorgeous and when wearing their threads, I want to let my hair go wild and I want to just BE.

Can I just say that I'm IN LOVE with this gorgeous suede maxi dress!  From the material to the double high slits to the lace up back...this dress is sheer perfection.  Sexy without being "in your face" sexy.

Because this dress as an edgy vibe, I've paired it with one of my more weathered moto jackets and these AMAZING Tecovas "Penny" boots.  Every southern girl needs a great pair of cowgirl boots and how amazing is it that Tecovas hand makes their boots straight from Austin, TX?!  They are my new fav cowgirl boots and with time, they will wear in and be as smooth as butter.

I'm also so super excited to share with all of you Nashvillians that American Threads will be opening a store front here in March!  The store will be located in Edgehill Village...grand opening details coming soon!  Definitely check out American Threads online and once they open their doors here in Nashville, you will find me there doing some shopping...hope to see you there!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Preppy In Duffield Lane

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

I've mentioned before that my style is very versatile and there are times when I like to channel my inner prep with a much more preppy look.  This Duffield Lane sweater has a classic effortless charm that say's take me to the country club!

To pull this prep inspired look together, I chose a plaid button down from my closet, a darker wash denim, some classic boots, and simple accessories.

This sweater, which also comes in crisp white and a bubblegum pink, will also be super cute in the Spring with some white denim.

If your style is more preppy, more classic, then Duffield Lane is a great online destination for you!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Stay The Path In Sweaty Betty

| Photos | Sweet Magnolia Photos

Before January 1st of this year, I sat down and thought through my weight loss and fitness goals.  I knew on the first day of this new year, I was going to take steps to make a change...steps to become a better me.

I've always enjoyed working out but I have also gone through phases where I was so dedicated and consistent with my workouts to going weeks without doing anything.

As a follow up to Friday's post (HERE), after Addison's surgery, I stayed home to take care of her throughout her recovery and during that time, I completely stopped working out.  I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted (unfortunately I am a stress eater and I LOVE sweets) so over time the weight piled on...20lbs of extra weight to be exact.

Last year, I ran my first half marathon, which was a HUGE accomplishment for me BUT, I was still eating whatever I wanted, which prevented me from loosing those extra 20lbs.

There was always an excuse not to start eating right and working out...#holidays.  I enjoy food and I don't like depriving myself of the foods that I have always loved.  But there had to come a time when I decided to give myself an opportunity to be fit again, to feel great again, and most importantly to be healthy again.

So, as of today, I am 24 days into Whole 30.  If you haven't heard of or read about Whole 30 (and you are intrigued) I definitely recommend that you check it out.

Basically, the way I am eating has completely changed (no diary, no sugar, no grains, etc)...meats, veggies, fruits, some nuts, and waer...that's what has been on my menu for the past 24 days.

I don't intend to stop at 30 days.  I may relax a little on how stringent the Whole 30 plan is but I truly plan to continue shifting my perspective on food and my relationship with food.  YES, I will eat cheese again, YES I will have wine again, and YES I will have desserts again...just not all of the time.

This post was never intended to be about my weight loss and fitness goals, nor was it intended to educate anyone on Whole 30 (I still have a lot to learn) but I wanted to share some of my personal struggles/journey with you all.  Maybe I will write post about Whole 30 a little closer to the completion of my first 30.

And of course I have to say that I will continue to feel confident in cute workout gear like this Sweaty Betty tunic and leggings as I continue to lose weight.  I actually really look forward to investing in new workout gear as part of my journey towards a more strong healthy me.

Have you set any health/fitness goals for yourself this year?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by...have a great start to your week!

Olive Green Vest & Beija-Flor Jeans + Outerwear Wish List

PLAID TOP // VEST // DENIM C/O // BOOTS (SIMILAR OPTION) // EARRINGS C/O // NECKLACE C/O // BAG C/O

Winter is coming!  For all of my "Game of Throne" fans, that saying has a completely different meaning to you!  But seriously, prepping for the cold with a thick warm frost fee vest is a MUST!

Although I don't own many "vests", I absolutely LOVE this one.  It doesn't just look cute but it is going to actually serve a purpose...keeping me warm!  There are only a few sizes left in this particular color BUT there are several other colors to pick from.

For a size reference, I am wearing a medium because I wanted the extra space for layering!

Also...I must tell you about my recent experience with Beija-Flor Jeans.  Beira-Flor's flagship store is located in Greenville, SC and they recently opened a store right here in Nashville.  I had always heard amazing things about Beija-Flor so I was thrilled when they invited me to their Nashville location to have a one-on-one consultation.

From the moment I walked in the door until the time I left with jeans in hand, I received a personalized shopping experience, which is something that they do for each and every customer.

The team at the Nashville store was well versed in their denim and was able to help me uncover which style of Beija-Flor jeans was the right fit for my shape.  Their knowledge, expertise, and professional opinions were gladly accepted because let's be honest...shopping for jeans on your own can be torture!

My perfect pair ended up being Aubrey Ankle "The Icon" in navy with Emana!  Emana is a patented skin firming technology that reduces the appearance of cellulite (YES PLEASE) and helps relieve muscle fatigue as well.  The overall result...a much smoother silhouette!

If you are local to Nashville, you must check them out!  They are located in Edgehill Village.  If you are not local, you can still receive a personalized experience as their website is fully equipped to help you uncover your perfect pair of jeans.  You can also call a (1 (800) 540-6241) Fit Master at the Nashville store and they would be more than happy to assist you!  I promise you will be nothing but satisfied!

I've also put together a collage of some gorgeous outerwear pieces that are currently 25% off!  Click on the images below and you will be taken directly to the site and don't forget to use code FRIEND at checkout to receive your additional 25% off!

Now is a great time to buy a new winter coat and enjoy some savings when you do!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great Wednesday!

p.s. starting yesterday, I began a #12daysofchristmas giveaway on Instagram!  Please feel free to enter and stay tuned for the next giveaway, which will be announced Wednesday night on Instagram!
