Merle Norman Beauty Spring Lineup

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing with you my Merle Norman Beauty Spring Lineup.  With the weather warming up, I am starting to wear less makeup for my everyday look and of course applying my sunscreen!

I'm sharing a few Merle Norman products that I am absolutely LOVING right now.  I tend to collect beauty products and I am ALWAYS trying something new.  Merle Norman has always been my go-to for a couple of specific products (have you seen my post on Super-Lube?!) and I've recently decided to try some new things.

Here is the lineup along with my comments on why I'm loving each!

1. Gentle Solutions Cleanser: What I love most about this cleanser is that it is a super gentle formula that can be washed off or just wiped off with tissue/gentle soft cloth.  There have been so many occasions where we've come home from a date night and I don't want to spend an extra 10 minutes washing my face so I have applied this cleanser and just wiped it off without using water.  It removed my makeup completely and left my skin feeling super clean and soft!

2.  CC Cream Broad Spectrum 30: This CC cream evens out my skin tone and feels so silky on my skin!  I typically wear a CC Cream when running out for quick errands and often times, that is all I need.  This has an SPF30 in it, which is essential especially now that the weather is warmer and the sun is staying out longer.  Often times, CC Creams with an SPF included leave my skin oily by the end of the day and this one so far has past the oil free test!  It is also great for layering under foundation for fuller coverage.

3. Liquid Lipcolor:  "At Last" & "Social Light" are two mauve pink lipgloss colors that work well for my natural lip color.  This "liquid lipcolor" is hybrid between a lipstick & a lipgloss.  It is moisturizing, pigmented, and has excellent staying power.  You won't find a ring around your lips either…isn't that the worst!

4.  Pro Pen Eyeliner:  This liquid liner pen is AMAZING! It has long lasting staying power and it doesn't smudge (no black under eye mess here)!  You can create a fine line or create a more dramatic look with this pen and it is great for anyone with sensitive skin, eyes, etc.

Hi everyone!  It is so gorgeous here in Nashville, which is a warm welcome (literally) after much cooler weather this past weekend.  We had such a busy weekend…dance, birthday parties, a soccer game, seeing the movie "Home", grocery shopping, etc.  By last night, I was exhausted and ready for a good nights sleep.  We are looking forward to the week ahead with Good Friday & Easter this weekend and not to mention, lots of egg hunts along the way!

For today's post I am brightening up in this yellow Forever 21 sweater for Spring!  This was a recent find at my local store & I couldn't find the exact sweater on their website (bummer) BUT I have linked a couple of similar styles above.  This sweater brightens my day anytime I wear it…the yellow is more of a neon yellow, without being neon yellow if you know what I mean!  I am also wearing these Forever 21 distressed jeans all of the time right now…I just LOVE THEM.  I have had a hard time finding distressed denim that doesn't have holes everywhere and that don't cost a fortune so I felt pretty luck to stumble across these.  The fit is amazing too!  A couple of other items on repeat are my ear jackets from Purple Peridot and this gorgeous handmade green gemstone ring from Gryphon Laine jewelry.  To say I am obsessed with both of these is an understatement!

Supporting "The Girls" With Kohl's

Hi everyone!  Today I am super excited to share the details of my recent experience shopping Kohl's bra department!  I must say it was an AWESOME experience!  First off, as a Momma of two in her early 30's, I have to admit that "my girls" aren't "the girls" that they used to be…sigh.  My body has changed over time with two pregnancies, nursing two babies, the gaining and losing of weight…not to mention leaving my late teens, my 20's and entering my 30's.  Not only has my bra size changed but my needs for the right coverage and fit has changed too! 

Before I embarked on my visit to Kohl's, I spent some time utilizing their online measuring resources, which truly helped me ensure that I am picking the right bra size…34C to be exact.  Now, just because you know your size, it doesn't mean that you don't need to spend time trying on multiple bra styles to find what truly fits and feels the best.  If you are like me, when a bra doesn't fit or if it isn't comfortable to wear, I am always tugging, pulling, itching, and adjusting the bra.  Not to mention, I find myself taking my bra off the minute I get home and going without!  Because we can't meet the world everyday braless, it is essential that you wear something that not only provides "the girl's" great support but something that also doesn't nag you throughout your day!

As much as I love a beautiful lace bra, a bra that is colorful, a push-up bra (Lord knows I need it) or a bra with bells and whistles…they just aren't practical for every day wear (at least not for me).  I want my bras to be beautiful but I also want them to provide a smooth silhouette (this is part of my philosophy of dressing in a polished put together way…wearing the right undergarments)…after all, unless I am wearing something that is specifically supposed to show some lace detail underneath, bras aren't meant to be seen through your clothes.  Which is why I am ALWAYS drawn to bras with a smooth cup that have minimal detail/bells & whistles.  AND t-shirt type bras are so incredibly comfortable and they provide the right amount of support for "my girls"!  If I find a bra that I love, I will buy the same bra in multiple colors too!

Here are some of my top picks from my recent shopping trip:

1. Warner's Bra "No Side Effects Underarm-Smoothing Wire-Free Bra" (I love this bra because it smooths out any extra skin that may show under your armpit and it is WIRE FREE)

2. Maidenform Bra "Comfort Devotion Extra Coverage Lace Trim-Demi" (I love the lace detail on this bra, it adds a little something to a simple bra yet it still offers a smooth cup)

3. Maidenform Bra "Comfort Devotion Extra Coverage Tailored Bra" (this bra is perfect for "extra coverage" and for an extra lift)

4. Maidenform Shapewear "Comfort Devotion Full Slip" (every woman should own a full slip that provides full support, and smooths your body in all of the right places, when wearing dresses, skirts, etc.)

Hi everyone, hope you are all coming off of a great weekend!  We had a busy yet really fun weekend…date night to an amazing little Italian restaurant where they make all of their pasta homemade (DELISH), play date with some pretty cool kiddos, and a family movie night at home ("Big Hero 6").  Weekends are the BEST, aren't they?!

Today I am talking about why I love TJMaxx so much (this probably doesn't need much explaining as I'm sure you love TJMaxx too)!  First off, this entire outfit, with the exception of the clutch and druzy necklace, came from TJMaxx and I got it all for just over $100!  I love that I can walk into a TJMaxx store at any time and find at least 1 name brand piece that I love at an incredibly affordable price.  I am such a bargain shopper and I am always on the hunt for great quality items that don't break the bank.  And, let's be honest, we all have to live within a budget!  TJMaxx offers a wide range of low to high end items, priced accordingly, so you can always find something within your budget no matter how big or small.  

I enjoy sifting through the racks to find a beautifully made piece and then turning over the tag to see a price that just screams…"TAKE ME HOME, TAKE ME HOME, TAKE ME HOME".  And their shoe and jewelry selection…SWOON!

What's not to love about a store that you can find so many unique affordable pieces to dress yourself stylishly and to decorate your home beautifully?!  NOTHING!  That's why "I HEART TJMAXX" so much!

Hi everyone, Happy Friday!  This week is "Spring Break" for most here in the Nashville and so many of my friends with elementary age children have been off enjoying the warm sunshine at various beach destinations.  Although our first vacation isn't until May, I am already getting together my suits and coverups for the season.
