Off The Shoulder Velvet Dress

It's only Halloween...Happy Halloween by the way, but I can't help but think ahead to the upcoming holidays when wearing this midnight blue Donna Morgan velvet dress.  It just screams holiday parties!

Let's be honest, the holidays will be here before we know it and for once I feel like I will actually be more prepared than I've been in years past.  I'm motivated to go ahead and get my Christmas shopping done and to have plenty of holiday party outfit options in my closet.

What I love most about this velvet dress is the deep midnight blue color and the off the shoulder fit.  The bell sleeves are also a beautiful touch.  I styled this dress with a closed toe heel but I recommend styling this dress with a gorgeous open toe heel or strappy heel for your holiday parties.    Because of its solid color, this dress is a blank slate so get creative and don't be afraid to add other jewel tone pieces like this gorgeous jeweled clutch!

We will be heading out tonight to trick or treat with Darth Vader and a black cat!  It's still hard to believe that today is Halloween...October flew by.  Now if time would just slow down so we can enjoy these next few holidays.

This Maggy London "Eileen Cold Shoulder" dress is modern yet classic.  The cold shoulder gives this little black dress an updated look and the beautiful lace overlay adds lots of visual interest.  It's the perfect dress for a night out on the town, for a cocktail event, or even for a wedding.

To dress it up a bit more, wear your hair up, add a pair of statement earrings, and a clutch and viola...you've got a more formal look!

The High & The Low

The high & the low...this vibrant turquoise high low Fira Maxi Dress from Charming Charlie is so perfect for those summer evenings out or those vacay strolls on the beach.  Wear it during the daytime with a great pair of flat sandals or wedges and you have a perfect daytime look too.

What I love most about a high low dress is the movement and the visual interest that a "high low" hemline adds to any maxi dress.  It flows and moves beautifully when you walk.  

And how gorgeous is the color of this dress?!  It really pops!  Give the high low trend a try if you haven't already, I think you will love it just as much as I do.  At just $35, this dress would be the perfect piece to start with!  For a size reference, I'm wearing a size small.

Pair it with this nude oversized clutch and a pair of nude heels (or sandals) and you've got an on trend put together summer look!

Here we are Friday...we meet again!!!  With a 3 day weekend ahead and vacation right around the corner, I can't tell you how excited I am that it is Friday.  Clearly my ear to ear smile says it all!

My weekend style is simple...recently it has been cutoff denim shorts and cute tops like this embroidered top from Charming Charlie.  This top is so comfortable, soft, and breezy.  The embroidered detail is gorgeous and even better yet, it is under $30!  And these colors just so happen to be perfect for Memorial Day festivities too!

Weekend wear is simple for me...it's all about comfort and being able to move through our weekend activities with ease.  Most weekends, I'm on and off sports fields, in and out of the grocery store, running errands here and running errands there.  Looking put together is important yet I also have to be comfortable.  I've said it so many times...I start LIVING in dresses this time of year.

There is nothing more comfortable than a super soft t-shirt dress and this Heidi Tank Dress from Charming Charlie has most recently been a go-to weekend grab and go piece.  It fits loosely and has pockets....ah hem, it has pockets!  AND this dress also comes in navy blue and red.  Have I mentioned yet that it is ONLY $19?!  Yes ladies, you heard that right. #pickyourjawupoffthefloor

Floral Pocket Dress

For a dress that is under $20, this adorable floral pocket dress packs a power punch!  The soft blues of this muted floral print are just gorgeous, the fit is super flattering, the material is so comfy, and it has front POCKETS...what's not to love?!

I interchanged two different bags to show you how a simple accessory tweak can change your overall look.  Both bags "went" so well with this dress and the soft yellow clutch compliments the blue hues so nicely and offers a perfect pop of color.  

Wear this dress with a pair of sneaks (like these Keds) for a much more casual look too!

Here's the thing...I love stripes and I love a shirtdresses!  Put the two together and you've got one amazing, super comfortable, striped "shirtdress". ;-)
