Mixing Florals + Cheetah Print for Fall

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Welcome back!  Over the last couple of weeks, I've unintentionally taken time off from weekly posts here on KBStyled.  We went to Disney World for Fall break, had family in town, and just last week, Addison broke her arm.  Two weeks of lots of fun and some unexpected firsts.

As you can imagine, things have been a bit busy (and chaotic at times) but I'm so glad to be back here with YOU.  I have a lot of great posts planned so stay tuned and check back here often, especially as we head into the holiday season at full speed!  I mean, can you believe it is already Halloween?!  I know I can't.  Reins is going to be a skeleton this year and Addison, a friendly ghost.

We've really been enjoying a lot of Fall activities as well and it has finally started to cool off here in Nashville.  We actually had frost on the ground this morning...a little too chilly for me but I'm happy to now truly experience the joys of Fall, the cooler weather included.

As you know, cooler temps typically means that we all get to start layering up a bit more and wearing light jackets.  I've been excited to share today's look with you all because it just so happens to be one of my all time favorite layered Fall looks.

I love Fall florals and this blouse and skirt immediately caught my attention.  I love the rich black backdrop with the green and yellow floral print.  I'm also a huge fan of mixing prints and in my opinion, there is nothing better than florals paired with a fun cheetah print.  I fell hard for this gorgeous, and super affordable, cheetah print coat.  It's not a heavy coat but it's perfect for layering this time of year.

To dress down this look a bit, pair the blouse & coat with your favorite pair of dark denim.  I've worn both with these black distressed jeans.  You can also wear the skirt with a chunky sweater and knee high boots.  All of these pieces are super versatile...you can create so many different looks.

I'd love to hear how you will be spending Halloween and/or if you have any fun Fall traditions!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and again, thank you for your patience as I get ramped back up here on the blog.  I appreciate each and every one of you!

Orange with a slice of lemon

| Photos | Madi Flournoy Henderson

Brighten up your spring wardrobe with a major dose of color with this orange 3/4 sleeve mock neck top from Fashion Union (I'm wearing a size medium).  I must admit, the top does look a little red, but believe it or not, it is a gorgeous shade of orange...let's just say, it is orangish/redish. ;-)

I've styled this top with a pair of distressed splatter paint jeans (wear this top with some crisp white jeans as well), my favorite pair of nude closed toe heels (throw on some cobalt heels to add more color), and some edgy accessories like these killer necklaces from Elle Louise Designs and this chain ring!

You truly don't have to wear any necklaces with this top because it has such a gorgeous neckline and the most chic button collar in the back but I personally like to accessories most of my looks.

And how cute is this lemon clutch?!  It's seriously so fun to carry and it SCREAMS spring & summer.  It is definitely a conversation starter too...one of those pieces that everyone will ask "where did you get that adorable clutch"?!  If I could insert a lemon emoji right now, I might get out of hand!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by.  It's FRIDAY and I'm sure like you all, I couldn't be more excited.  Looking forward to a great weekend ahead...hope you all have a great one as well.

p.s I'll have a rare Saturday post up where I will be talking a bit about shape wear...don't forget to check back tomorrow!

Tie Neck Dresses

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

DRESS (floral is sold out, black is available in most sizes) || HEELS || BAG C/O || RING || EARRINGS

Tie neck blouses and dresses have been trending for several months now and I am starting to see them pop up all over the place in various spring styles & colors.

What I love most about this trend is that it is a nod to the 70's with a more modern twist.  Tie necks add so much visual interest to the neckline and they draw the eye up towards your face.  Tie it around your neck for a more polished buttoned up look or let the tie hang loosely for a more relaxed look.

This particular dress is now only available in black but the black is just as amazing and to be honest, much more versatile!  From a size perspective...I am wearing a small.  This brad runs about a size too large so I would say you could size down if you would like!

I've also put together a collage of tie neck dresses (see below).  Click on each image within the collage and it will take you straight to the details for each dress.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by...have a great day!

Cold Shoulder Sweater

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

Cold shoulder sweaters and tops are trending right now and The Mint Julep Boutique has nailed this trend with this gorgeous "Long Time Coming" cold shoulder sweater!  The taupe sweater that I am wearing sold out quickly however, they still have this sweater (all sizes available) in a beautiful salmon color, which is perfect for spring!

Light sweaters like this are a must for spring!  Instead of wearing a jacket on those cooler days, wear this light sweater with your favorite pair of denim and a great pair of sandals and you are ready to go.  This sweater can also be worn on those cooler summer nights too!

And how gorgeous is this Cinda B "Large London Tote"?!  This bag comes in 2 other prints too.  And the BEST PART...it is currently 50% off and is only $64.50!!!  You can literally carry everything in this tote...it is so spacious and completely practical for every day use!   Things to get excited about...a GREAT tote and a 50% off SALE!

What are some of your must haves for spring?!  Would love to hear from you...leave a comment below!

Here's the thing...I love stripes and I love a shirtdresses!  Put the two together and you've got one amazing, super comfortable, striped "shirtdress". ;-)

Add this chic classic piece to your wardrobe for under $40 and then dress it up or dress it down.  Pair this dress with some nude sandals to elongate your legs even more and a great nude (or black) bag.  This look does not need a lot of accessories because the dress stands out on its on!

p.s for your reference, I am wearing a size small!

Today's post was short and sweet but I do hope you have a wonderful Wednesday my friends.  As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Striped Shirtdress

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

Today's post is going to be short and sweet...you NEED, I mean NEED, this striped shirtdress!  I was lucky to stumble upon this dress when browsing in Old Navy recently and I am so glad that I did, especially for the price!

I immediately fell in love with its slouchy relaxed fit and the overall chic yet easy vibe it puts off the minute I slipped it on.

You know when you have things in your closet that are just easy and no fuss...this dress is exactly that.  A piece that I will be grabbing for time and time again.

Wear it with open toed booties for an early spring look, pair it with heels and a clutch for a night out, or with sneakers and a baseball hat for a trip to the soccer field on Saturday.

Are you in love with this shirtdress yet?!  I think you may be even more in love when I tell you that it is ONLY $16!!!

p.s I am wearing a size small in this dress...it is intended to fit loosely!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by...have a great day!

Green Plaid Sweater Cardigan + Top Holiday Sweater Picks

PLAID CARDI SWEATER // BELT // FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS // HEELS // SUNNIES // BAG C/O

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen this green plaid sweater cardi a time or two!  This sweater cardi has become one of my favorite Fall pieces...I really can't get enough of the green plaid and how warm, cozy, and practical this sweater is.

It is so versatile too...wear it belted or unbelted to achieve different looks.  This sweater would also look super cute over a black & white striped tee (I always love mixing patterns) for a more casual look or over a a crisp white button down for a more classic timeless look.  The options are truly limitless!

I also encourage you to consider this sweater for those ladies that are on your holiday shopping wish list!  This type of sweater suits all body types and all ages so it would make the perfect gift for all stylish ladies in your life!

Open sweater cardigans and ponchos are on trend this season so I have put together a list of some others that would also make a great gift this holiday season!
