Mixing Florals + Cheetah Print for Fall

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Welcome back!  Over the last couple of weeks, I've unintentionally taken time off from weekly posts here on KBStyled.  We went to Disney World for Fall break, had family in town, and just last week, Addison broke her arm.  Two weeks of lots of fun and some unexpected firsts.

As you can imagine, things have been a bit busy (and chaotic at times) but I'm so glad to be back here with YOU.  I have a lot of great posts planned so stay tuned and check back here often, especially as we head into the holiday season at full speed!  I mean, can you believe it is already Halloween?!  I know I can't.  Reins is going to be a skeleton this year and Addison, a friendly ghost.

We've really been enjoying a lot of Fall activities as well and it has finally started to cool off here in Nashville.  We actually had frost on the ground this morning...a little too chilly for me but I'm happy to now truly experience the joys of Fall, the cooler weather included.

As you know, cooler temps typically means that we all get to start layering up a bit more and wearing light jackets.  I've been excited to share today's look with you all because it just so happens to be one of my all time favorite layered Fall looks.

I love Fall florals and this blouse and skirt immediately caught my attention.  I love the rich black backdrop with the green and yellow floral print.  I'm also a huge fan of mixing prints and in my opinion, there is nothing better than florals paired with a fun cheetah print.  I fell hard for this gorgeous, and super affordable, cheetah print coat.  It's not a heavy coat but it's perfect for layering this time of year.

To dress down this look a bit, pair the blouse & coat with your favorite pair of dark denim.  I've worn both with these black distressed jeans.  You can also wear the skirt with a chunky sweater and knee high boots.  All of these pieces are super versatile...you can create so many different looks.

I'd love to hear how you will be spending Halloween and/or if you have any fun Fall traditions!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and again, thank you for your patience as I get ramped back up here on the blog.  I appreciate each and every one of you!

Goodnight Macaroon - Mint Green Lace Shift Dress

Photos || Madi Flournoy Henderson

The mint green color, the lace, the bottle neck, the soft pink lining, the shift style...there is so much to love about this "Jillian" dress from Goodnight Macaroon!

Not only is this dress a perfect special occasion dress but it can also be dressed down a bit or toughened up if you will by pairing it with a moto jacket, denim jacket, or even a military jacket.

It is also such a timeless dress, a piece that you will have for years to come and that you will find yourself wearing for so many different occasions.

Goodnight Macaroon has become one of my favorite online boutiques.  Every piece is beautiful, well made, and just as it appears online.  Sizing details are pretty spot on as well...everything I've purchased from here has fit perfectly.  Definitely check out their site when you have a moment and let me know if you have any questions.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a great Friday!  TGIF!

White Ruffle Shift Dress

| Photos | Madi Flournoy Henderson

Now that we have sprung forward, giving us an extra hour of daylight each day, I feel like I'm prepared to officially welcome spring!  Moving our clocks forward always seems so symbolic of spring arriving, temperatures warming up, and wardrobes lighting up.

My mind is there and my wardrobe is certainly getting there too.  Ahhhh spring, how I love thee!

I personally tend to gravitate towards white pieces for spring & summer.  White is so fresh, crisp and airy.  Every gal needs a beautiful, easy to wear, white dress in her closet.  Frankly, I personally think every gal needs more than one white dress in her closet (I can't count how many variations of the classic white dress that I have...you can never have too many ;-)).  I tend to buy at least one new white dress each season.

When I spotted this white ruffle shift dress, I knew she would make herself right at home in my closet.  I love a great shift dress (a style that most if not all body types can wear) and this particular dress also has these beautiful dainty ruffles, which adds so much visual interest.  AND this beauty is under $35!!!

The fit of this dress is spot on (I'm wearing a size small for your reference) and the flowy feminine style is one that can be dressed up or dressed down.

Add a pop of color here or a pop of color there...you have a beautiful blank canvas to work with when choosing your accessories.  I chose a pop of color with these gorgeous earrings and I also added a dainty gold necklace too.  Nude sandals elongate your legs (Lord knows I need that) and this weekender is the perfect bag for those fun weekend adventures.  I can't help but dream of tropical destinations when carrying this bag!

So tell me...how many white dresses do you have in your closet?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a great start to your week!

Polka Dots & A Bowtie

| Photos | Catherine Truman Photo

Polka dots are always in and this top from the Who What Wear collection at Target is the perfect dot button up top!  Dressed up or dressed down, as I've done with my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, this top is a fun versatile addition to your closet.

I love how "smart" this look turned out just by adding a bowtie scarf and a great pair of leopard heels!  What's not to love about a look (top, bowtie scarf, and denim) that you can put together for under $100?!

I recommend sizing down in the Who What Wear collection as it runs larger than TTS...I am wearing a XS in this top and a size 4 in the boyfriend jeans.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a great start to your week!

Green Plaid Sweater Cardigan + Top Holiday Sweater Picks

PLAID CARDI SWEATER // BELT // FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS // HEELS // SUNNIES // BAG C/O

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen this green plaid sweater cardi a time or two!  This sweater cardi has become one of my favorite Fall pieces...I really can't get enough of the green plaid and how warm, cozy, and practical this sweater is.

It is so versatile too...wear it belted or unbelted to achieve different looks.  This sweater would also look super cute over a black & white striped tee (I always love mixing patterns) for a more casual look or over a a crisp white button down for a more classic timeless look.  The options are truly limitless!

I also encourage you to consider this sweater for those ladies that are on your holiday shopping wish list!  This type of sweater suits all body types and all ages so it would make the perfect gift for all stylish ladies in your life!

Open sweater cardigans and ponchos are on trend this season so I have put together a list of some others that would also make a great gift this holiday season!

Denim Shirt + Fringe Skirt

FRINGE SKIRT // DENIM TOP // HEELS // NECKLACE C/O // EARRINGS C/O // RINGS C/O // BAG C/O

Fringe here, fringe there, fringe everywhere!!!  Fringe has been trending for a while now and I'm sure you have seen it just about EVERYWHERE when out and about shopping.  From fringe skirts, to fringe trimmed sweaters, to fringe booties, to fringe jackets, to fringe bags...there are certainly plenty of options to try if you are loving this trend as much as I am.

I've personally stocked my closet with plenty of fringe pieces this season.  When I stumbled upon this faux leather fringe skirt, I immediately envisioned a variety of style combinations.  I've styled it with a denim button down for today's look but I will be pairing it with a chunky sweater next.

This particular fringe skirt will be one of the most affordable options out there...at under $25 you can wear this skirt all season and know that you've gotten more than your money's worth.

I would love to hear from you...how would you style this skirt?!

Wishing you all a beautiful Friday & a fun weekend ahead!  We are soooooo excited to go trick or treating tomorrow...Reins is going to be a Storm Trooper & Addison, Ariel.  They always like dressing up and of course, they are beyond excited for the treats.  Hope you all enjoy this fun holiday weekend as well...be safe!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Molly Bracken White Lace Dress

Have you ever worn a white dress that makes you feel like you should be saying your "I do's" again or maybe for the first time?!  This Molly Bracken "Robe" dress had me feeling like I should plan a barn or garden wedding renewal for our 10 year wedding anniversary next year.  It is just so beautiful...the feminine silhouette and the very sweet floral lace overlay gives this dress such a romantic feel.

Pairing black accessories/booties with this dress is a little less expected but I wanted to show you all that this dress can be worn much more "dressed down" if you will.  Throw on a black leather jacket to toughen it up even more!

Because Molly Bracken is a French fashion brand, their sizing is different so you will want to refer to their size chart for details.  I am wearing size T1, which is equivalent to a size small.

I'm sure you are just as sad as I am to say goodbye to the weekend but I do hope your week gets off to a great start!  Have a wonderful Monday and thanks so much for stopping by!
