Talking Bralettes with Kohl's

The summertime heat always means wearing less clothing and often times, light flowy fabrics that can be a little tricky to know what type of bra to wear underneath.  I used to shy away from any top or dress that meant I could only wear a strapless bra because let's be honest, strapless bras aren't always the most comfortable to wear and I find myself pulling and tugging at them all day.

Thankfully bralettes have become much more popular to wear, which gives us ladies another chic, more comfortable, option.  Most recently I noticed that I only had 2 braettes and they were bold colors so I decided to go on the hunt for some new neutral styles that I can wear with more of my summer wardrobe.

I've previously shopped for bras at Kohl's and was so pleased with their broad selection of brands and styles so naturally, I returned to Kohl's to search for bralettes.  Kohl's did not disappoint!

They had such a great selection of bralettes...from Maidenform, to Lily of France, to SO...there were so many options to pick from.  I grabbed several different styles from each of these brands and ended up picking several bralettes from Maidenform.  They fit me the best and I loved the style and simplicity of their bralettes.

I chose a nude, light pink, white and black bralette, all in a size medium.  I wear a 34C in most bras so I found the medium to be the perfect size for me.  What I loved most about the Madienform bralette's is that the cup is lined, which offers additional coverage and support.  Some of the straps were adjustable and others were a racerback style.

I styled two of my bralette's, one with a flowy summer tank that is lower cut in the front and more open in the back.  I love how the black bralette peeks out in all of the right places!  I also styled the pink bralette with a long duster cardigan and denim shorts...I would wear a white tank overtop of the bralette and allow the pink to peek through as well.

Since picking up my new bralett's, I've been wearing them almost daily.  They are so comfortable to wear and I love the support that I get without having to wear a strapless bra with all of my cute summer tops and dresses.

LC Lauren Conrad Velvet Blazer

Velvet has made a comeback and in a BIG way!  From velvet blazers, to velvet tops, skirts, dresses, shoes...you name it, it's all about VELVET.  This is a huge trend this season and I'm completely on board.

This gorgeous velvet blazer from Lauren Conrad's runway collection for Kohl's is absolutely stunning.  I love the boyfriend blazer fit and it's perfect for dressing down as I've done for today's look or dressing up...think satin dress or a sleek black dress paired with this blazer for a night out!  You can truly make this blazer look as casual or as dressy as you would like.

I love this blazer so much that I had to return to Kohl's.com and buy it in the "wine" color as well.  My mind immediacy trails off to holiday parties! 

If you can't quite commit to a velvet blazer or aren't so sure about jumping into this trend...try something like a velvet heel first and see what you think!

Kohl's Perfect Pair...Panties That Is!

Kohl's Panties Collection

Shopping for new panties couldn't have come at a better time!  My panty drawer was suffering big time...think one too many spin cycles and oodles of lent balls.  Get the picture?!

Panties aren't something that I shop for often, usually once, maybe twice a year so when I was offered the opportunity to partner with Kohl's to makeover my panty drawer, I said absolutely YES with two hands raised high.  It was almost as if Kohl's knew that I needed to be rescued from wearing one more pair of ill fitting oversized lent ball collecting panties.

I was almost embarrassed to go through my panty drawer and clean them out before embarking on a shopping trip to buy new panties.  I know we all have them but some of the panties I had in my drawer...phew, cringe worthy...a size or two larger from when I was pregnant (ahem, 4 years ago), pairs with holes in them, pairs that I haven't been able to part with because they are just SO COMFY, and pairs that I haven't worn in years.  

So first steps first...CLEAN THEM OUT!  Gone and gone!

I then headed to our local Kohl's store and took my time looking at all of the gorgeous lent and hole free panties.  There were so many different options to pick from.  My style has always been thongs and cheeky hipsters and I love subtle lace detail as well so that it what I was on the hunt for.  I found so many gorgeous options in both styles so I stocked up!  Cheeky hipsters are great for wearing under jeans, etc.  I also picked out a few pair of seamless full brief panty, which are perfect for wearing under specific garments. 

Shopping for new panties at Kohl's was the BEST experience!  I was able to makeover may panty drawer with ease and without spending a fortune.  If you don't have a Kohl's store nearby, don't worry...you can shop for your perfect pair online HERE!

Caribean Coral High-Low Ruffle Halter Dress

Let's face it, it's still July and no matter how much we all want to start thinking about cooler temps, we still have PLENTY of summer days left.  There is nothing better than bright vibrant pieces during the hot summer months and this gorgeous Caribbean Coral High-Low Ruffle Halter Dress from Kohl's is the perfect summer maxi!

What's not to love about this gorgeous dress...the color, the high-low hemline, the halter neckline, the RUFFLES!!!  Did I say the ruffles?! ;-)  OH...AND this dress is currently on sale for ONLY $35.  Such a steal for an amazing dress!!!

This dress is so feminine and beautiful...perfect for a summer wedding, date night, girls night, brunch...the occasion wearing list could go on and on.

For a size reference, I am wearing a size small.  There is plenty of room throughout the bodice of the dress but if you are large chested, you may want to consider sizing up as it can run a little snug under the arms and around the neckline. Running It Back In A Leaf Romper

My Hubby and I have this saying...when something is soooo good that you need to repeat it, we say "run it back"!  So today, I am "running it back" in this leaf romper!

If you saw Wednesday's post, I shared that I just can't get enough of rompers right now...hence another amazing romper in today's post!

I adore the large leaf print on this roll-tab sleeve romper...the colors are gorgeous, vibrant, and bold!  The roll tab sleeve allows you to wear the sleeve at 3/4 length or longer and the mandarin color adds a nice little subtle twist at the neckline.  This particular romper is currently on sale too...score!

p.s for a size reference I am wearing a size 4!

Cream Pleated Halter Dress

For those of you that count on a Monday post each week, my apologies, my need for sleep caught up to me on Sunday night and I fell asleep while writing my post.  It happens to the best of us!  Plus we had to stay up a bit later to watch Game on Thrones...I couldn't have possibly missed that. ;-)  Who else is a fan?!

Moving on...

I recently discovered the brand Sosie and I can't tell you how OBSESSED I am with their pieces, like this gorgeous cream pleated halter dress.  They have a great selection of summer dresses, tops, etc and all of their pieces are priced so reasonably.  The pleated halter that I am wearing is priced right at $50 and it also comes in black. 

Something to note about this dress is that it does have a lining that is fitted and not loose.  Keep this in mind when you are looking at the sizes.  If you are anything like me and have hips, you may need a little extra wiggle room.

Like most dresses that I wear, this one is perfect for a variety of occasions and can be dressed up or dressed down.  Take it up a notch for a more formal event with a bold pair of statement earrings, a clutch, and some strappy heels.  Add pops of color for a more fun flirty look...think turquoise open toed heels, a bold red clutch, or even a stack of colorful bangles.  Or even wear a bold red lip or a bright pink lip!  Not to mention, you can easily wear this dress in the Fall as well...think knee high boots and a moto jacket!

PONCHO UP

Some would say PONY UP, and I would say PONCHO UP!  If you don't have a poncho or two (really 3) in your wardrobe right now, you are seriously missing out.  And I highly recommend that you add one ASAP!

Why?!  Because they are beyond comfortable and they are effortlessly chic.  Well, and if you get cold easily like I do, they keep you warm too (anything that is chic yet practical gets an A+ from me).
