Khaki Ruffle Sleeve Dress + My Love for Dillard's

I receive this question a lot..."where do you shop for all of your cute dresses?"  Many people assume my answer will be a local Nashville boutique and although I adore our local boutiques, some of my favorite dresses have been purchased at Dillard's!

I've always loved shopping at Dillard's...it has been a destination store for me ever since I was a little girl going to the mall with my Mom on Saturdays.  We always knew that we could find exactly what we were looking for, and MORE, and Dillard's.  Lucky for me, the Dullard's that is just a few miles away from our home is AMAZING and they have one of the best dress selections.  I'm also crazy about their shoe and bag department!

While there recently, I came across this adorable classic khaki ruffle sleeve dress!  The color, the classic fit & flare style, and the ruffle flutter sleeves immediately drew me in.  At first glance I knew this dress would not only be super versatile but it would also be a dress that I will have in my wardrobe for many years to come!  It's the perfect blank slate to do whatever you would like...dress up, dress down, add a pop of color, or keep it neutral as I did.  The options for styling this dress are endless!

Blush Pink Trapeze Dress

How cute is this blush pink trapeze dress?!  From the soft feminine color to the lace inset details to the trapeze style...I adore everything about this dress.  Not to mention, the fact that it is currently on sale for under $40 makes me adore this dress even more.  What a steal, right?!

Take this dress up a notch by pairing it with a fun pair of heels for an evening out or special event look.  I chose to pair it with wedge sandals for a daytime look but it can be worn for a variety of occasions.

Dressed for Summer with Nordstrom

The first official day of summer is this week and although we've personally already welcomed summer, I'm looking forward to those longer days where the sun doesn't set until 8:30pm or later.  We love spending summer evenings outside as a family!  Popsicles on the porch and chasing fireflies are two of our favorite things to do.

Most of you know that I LIVE in dresses during the summer.  I would much rather wear a light breezy dress than anything else when it is hot outside.  Not only are dresses perfect for staying cool during the hot summer months but they are also versatile and easy to wear for a variety of occasions.  From running errands, to an outdoor cookout with family or friends, to a date night, or to a wedding...a beautiful summer dress is perfect for all occasions.

Every summer season, I shop for new dresses at Nordstrom.  They have THE BEST selection of summer dresses and I'm alway able to find just what I'm looking for.  From casual to dressy, you can find the perfect dress for every occasion.

When shopping most recently, I saw this gorgeous floral off the shoulder maxi dress at Nordstrom and I was immediately drawn to the style, colors, and bold floral print.  We have some evening events this summer and I knew this dress would work perfectly for some of those events.  I paired it with simple blush heels and a bright white fold envelope clutch.  To not take away from the bold floral print, I kept my earring choice simple with these Sophia drop earrings.

Golden Floral Bardot Midi Dress

A little Sunday morning sunshine today...this dress just brightens my day.  The bold yellow flowers are so cheerful and the off the shoulder style creates an ultra feminine feel.  Plus the fit & flare midi-length style is so figure flattering too.

Because the print of this dress is so bold, I chose not to add a lot of accessories.  The dress stands out on its own.  I chose black heels to pull out the black in the center of the flowers but you could also wear a nude heel or even add a pop of color like red or emerald green!

Sizing tip...read the "size guide" in inches before selecting your size.  I'm wearing a UK size 10 and it fits perfectly!

Floral Cold Shoulder Midi Dress

This dress is hands down one of my absolute favorite dresses.  From the bright floral print, to the contrast solid color trim detail, to the cold shoulder halter style, to the bold ruffle...there is just so much to love about this dress.  Besides all of those things...it's just fun to wear!

I've worn this dress several times since receiving it and I always receive so many compliments on it.  I wore it while at the rewardStyle conference a few weeks ago and then turned around and wore it while in Anguilla.  I dressed it up both times but I can't wait to wear it with this summer hat that I just picked up and a pair of simple lace up sandals for a more casual look.

I feel confident in saying that I will continue to get so much wear out of this dress and I know it will be a part of my wardrobe for years to come!

p.s I'm wearing a UK size 10 in this dress.  I could have probably worn a UK size 8 so I encourage you to read the size chart when ordering.

Marigold Wrap Dress

I've got a new found love for yellow...ALL shades of yellow!  This marigold wrap maxi dress immediately caught my eye when shopping for our most recent vacation.  It is light, airy, and perfect for those warm summer days that are right around the corner.

The ruffle cold shoulder detail is adds such a feminine delicate touch as well.  Every dress I wear can typically be dressed for day and night.  Switch out wedge sandals for a pair of strappy heels (nude or even a punchy color like red or cobalt) and add a fun bold clutch for a summer evening look.

I recommend sizing up on this dress.  Anytime you purchase a wrap dress, I recommend sizing up to ensure you have plenty of material to wrap around and provide the right amount of coverage.  Because of the asymmetrical hemline of this dress and the higher slit, you may want to consider wearing a delicate short lace slip underneath.

The wedge sandals that I am wearing have more recently been my go-to pair of wedges and they are currently 30% off with code FRIEND, which puts them under $50...such a steal!

The Palm Print

Spring and summer wouldn't be the same without a palm print piece or two in your wardrobe.  Although palm prints personally make me think of tropical destinations, you don't need to be heading somewhere tropical or going to a luau to wear a palm print piece!
