Fringe here, fringe there, fringe everywhere!!!  Fringe has been trending for a while now and I'm sure you have seen it just about EVERYWHERE when out and about shopping.  From fringe skirts, to fringe trimmed sweaters, to fringe booties, to fringe jackets, to fringe bags...there are certainly plenty of options to try if you are loving this trend as much as I am.

I've personally stocked my closet with plenty of fringe pieces this season.  When I stumbled upon this faux leather fringe skirt, I immediately envisioned a variety of style combinations.  I've styled it with a denim button down for today's look but I will be pairing it with a chunky sweater next.

Stylish Confidence with Aloncii

How often do you put put on an article of clothing or a pair of shoes that just isn't comfortable?!  I have been there so many times and often times I have sacrificed comfort for style.  Over the years, I have learned not to sacrifice comfort for style and I have also learned that I am much more confident when I am wearing pieces that are not only chic but that are most importantly...COMFORTABLE!

As a busy Momma of two, I have found myself consistently adding comfortable pieces to my wardrobe...including comfortable shoes.  I'm still wearing heels but I have turned in those pairs of heels that caused my feet any ounce of pain.  Wearing uncomfortable shoes and having feet that hurt for 24 hours afterwards just isn't worth it anymore.  

I've learned that style IS comfort and BEING & FEELING "stylish" comes when you walk confidently in whatever you are wearing.  If you aren't comfortable in what you have on, how could you possibly portray yourself to be your most confident?!  I know I can't.  If it's too tight...I'm tugging and pulling.  If it's too short...I'm self conscious.  If my shoes are a half size too small, if my toes are stuffed in like sausages, if the pads of my feet are pounding in pain...all I can think about is when and where can I take off these shoes!!!

Have you shopped Forever 21's "contemporary" collection?!  If not, I definitely recommend that you check it out.  The pieces are chic and super affordable...not to mention, the quality is great too.  This tie front shift dress is a piece that I found in our local store, which I'm thinking must have been a popular piece because it sold out so fast!

You may be thinking..."I'm too old to shop at Forever 21"...something I have thought many times but I must say, when I'm in the store and I see women of all ages shopping there, I stop questioning and start shopping.  Their contemporary line is the perfect line for those of us who are no longer wearing short skirts, crop tops, cut off tees, etc.  It's the perfect match for those of us looking for stylish, AGE APPROPRIATE, pieces at budget friendly prices.

Today is a special day as Peter and I celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary!  We have had a pretty awesome journey over the last 9 years (and the years before) and I am most proud of the little family that we have made.  Today I will be reflecting on so much and appreciating the growth we have achieved together as Husband and Wife and together as a family.

I also wanted to tell you all about an up and coming Designer by the name of Julie Lebrun, her brand is called Jordane Bovary and her designs are french inspired and made right here in the US.  Her pieces are classic and chic.  This off the shoulder crop top is so feminine & flattering...her signature cameo adds a little edge too!  Julie's pieces make me wish that I were sitting at a charming French cafe hand in hand with my love.

Hi everyone...hope you all had a great weekend!  We are still enjoying our time at the beach, soaking up every last minute before we head back to Nashville.  It's so hard to believe that "fall break" has now come and gone...time seriously needs to slow down!  Although time is passing quickly, I'm so glad it is officially sweater weather!

Oh So Sweet With Gigi's Cupcakes

Sweet treats to wrap up the work week...why yes, I think I will!  Who else besides me loves cupcakes...I mean LUUUVVVSSS cupcakes?!  It's okay to admit it, there is nothing wrong with loving cupcakes.  I'll raise my hand twice on this one.  Two hands up for Gigi's Cupcakes!!

Over the last several years, cupcakes have made a new name for themselves.  They have evolved from the Betty Crocker box (don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with good ole Betty Crocker mix) to these decadent delicious treats.  Cupcakes have become chic, fashionable, and frankly...just plain cool.

Cupcakes are no longer mainly seen as a child's dessert...adults have really caught on to the cupcake craze and have been enjoying them as well!  There have been many weddings, adult parties (bachelorette, baby shower, birthday, etc), holiday parties, corporate events, conferences, & social networking events that I have been to where cupcakes have been the star of the dessert table.  I'm sure you can say the same.  Everyone wants a cupcake!

Cupcakes are outside of the norm when it comes to traditional desserts and I love how fashionable and chic they have become!  Instead of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving, why not try a tray full of Gigi's "Pumpkin Spice Latte" cupcakes?!  Which are A.M.A.Z.I.NG by the way.  Or the next time you get together with a group of girlfriends to celebrate a birthday, why not bring a box of Gigi's "Birthday Surprise" cupcakes?!

When I sat down with Gigi to talk about our collaboration, I was just so impressed with her for so many reason.  She is a woman of God, an entrepreneur who is also a Mom, and she just so happens to be an phenomenal Baker.  Gigi is driven & goal oriented...she dreams big, she chases her dreams, and she turns her dreams into reality.  

She is such an inspiration...Gigi opened her doors here in Nashville back in February 2008 with only $33 to her name.  She always knew that she loved to bake and when the idea of opening her own cupcake shop began circulating (thanks to the encouragement of her brother), she took action and made it happen!

Gigi is a hard worker and has maneuvered through some bumps in the road with such ease.  It is women like Gigi that inspire me (and many of you I am sure) to follow those dreams we have for ourselves.  She believed in herself and what she was capable of achieving and so should all of we.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month + Kendra Scott

Today's post is dedicated to all of those brave women who are currently battling, who have formerly fought, and who may in the future be faced with a breast cancer diagnosis.  Today's post is especially dedicated to my mother-in-law, Caroline, who fought and won this battle many years ago.  How lucky I am to know and love her!

  To honor, respect, and show my complete admiration for these strong, brave, resilient women...today I wear pink.

Did you know...

- Every 2 minutes, there is a new breast cancer diagnosis

- Every 14 minutes, a life is lost to the disease

- 85% of all diagnoses have no family history

- 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer

- Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women between ages 40-55

- There are over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States

When reading through these statistics, I couldn't help but get teary eyed just imaging the fight that so many women, and their loved ones, have fought.  Of course I couldn't help but think about all of the very important women in my life and how I can only hope that they (that I) will never have to battle breast cancer nor face it again on the battle field.

I'm also filled with incredible pride to know a brand such as Kendra Scott that is a year-round partner of Susan G. Komen.  Every October, Kendra Scott and Susan G. Komen team up in the fight against breast cancer.

What's even more amazing is that our local Kendra Scott store in Nashville is teaming up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Nashville during Breast Cancer Awareness month to gift women who are undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer.
