Prepped for Winter with Payless

*Today's post in in partnership with Payless.

Jack Frost has recently paid us a visit and I know Old Man Winter is on his way.  They won't catch me off guard this year thanks to these incredibly warm "Torrent Weather Boots".

After living in Phoenix, AZ for 5 years, we moved to Nashville a few years back with such excitement to again live in a place that has 4 distinct seasons.  But boy did I forget how cold it can get and why it is absolutely necessary to have super warm winter clothes, including a great pair of cold weather boots.

It's not just the ice and snow that I'm prepared for but it is also those cold wet rainy winter days, which these boots will also be perfect for.  Until now, I have not owned a pair of cold weather boots and after wearing rain boots in the snow last year (my toes about froze off), I promised myself that I wouldn't go another winter without a pair of boots to keep my feet dry and WARM!

Boots like these can cost a pretty penny so I love that Payless has such a high quality boot at a super affordable price.  These boots are under $60...they are such a steal!  Not only are they practical for cold weather but they are super stylish too!

Definitely check out Payless' cold weather boot collection...I'm certain you will find a pair that you love!  I also love THESE!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Design Lab by Lord & Taylor

*Today's post is in collaboration with Lord & Taylor via Shopping Links.

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

This season I've been on the hunt for a great pair of new black skinny jeans and something plaid.  During my search, I was looking for a pair of jeans that were slightly distressed, that had great stretch to them, that had a bit of a higher rise, and that were super flattering.  And when looking for plaid...I just knew that I simply did not need another plaid button down top!

Thankfully I found the PERFECT pair of black distressed skinny jeans at Lord & Taylor.  I have heard a lot of wonderful things about their brand, Design Lab, so I decided to shop for a few pieces online.  And I've got to say that I was so impressed when my Design Lab pieces arrived!  Many of you know how hard it can be to find jeans that you love and it is safe to say that I LOVE these jeans (and you will LOVE the price too)!

In addition to my new black skinny's, I picked up this plaid asymmetrical jacket.  I was immediately drawn to the burgundy plaid and the overall look of the jacket.  I paired my jacket with this basic white boyfriend tee, however I also wear this jacket over light sweaters.  Layer your look as much as you would like...this jacket is the perfect piece to do that with!  If you love plaid pieces as much as I do, this is a great addition to your wardrobe!

If you haven't shopped at Lord & Taylor recently, I encourage you to take some time either in store or online...I'm sure you will be just as impressed as I have been.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Ringing in the New Year with Alyce Paris

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

New Year's Eve is right around the corner and I'm personally ready to ring in a new year.  Overall, this past year has been amazing and I'm so excited to see what 2017 has in store.  When thinking back on years past, I can't help but feel a little nostalgic.  Peter and I have created so many great memories over the years, just the two of us, and over the last several years with our little family.

Some of my favorite memories are when we have gotten dressed up, gone out to a nice dinner, and rung the New Year in with family and friends.  There is something so special and magical about closing the chapter of one year just to open the blank pages of a chapter for the new year.

We aren't sure what we will be doing this New Year's Eve but if we do find ourselves heading into the city, I will be wearing this fun flirty and STUNNING sequin cocktail dress from Alyce Paris!

Alyce Paris designs beautiful evening wear for girls and women who are experiencing momentous occasions in their lives and for those who want something special to wear during those memory making moments like New Year's Eve.  Alyce Paris' designs embody classic styles with trend-forward twists...styles that are sure to empower you to look and feel your very best.

What I love most about this sequin cocktail dress is the incredible bead work and the elegant metallic embellishments.  The cutout back detail with beaded fringe elevates this dress, making it a total show stopper!  This dress is so flattering and it accentuates the body's natural curves in all of the right places.  Simply put...this dress is STUNNING and it makes me feel like a million bucks.  I simply cannot wait to wear this to a special occasion.

Whether or not you are in need of a evening gown, cocktail dress, prom dress, bridal party dress, etc...I am certain Alyce Paris will have the perfect dress for you.

Who has big plans for New Years Eve?!  I'd love to hear about your plans and whether or not you will be getting all dolled up!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great start to your week!

LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEAS FOR HER

Many of us may already have finished our Christmas shopping yet there still may be many of us who have some final gifts to buy.  Or some that haven't even started yet.  So I thought I would round up several of my favorite gift ideas that I've recently shared on Instagram.  These are all great gift ideas for those gals in your life!

What I love most about this Kipling "Paola" backpack is its rich green velvet color!  As you've probably seen here on KBStyled and elsewhere, velvet has been a HUGE trend this season and I've personally added several new velvet pieces to my wardrobe.  Backpacks have also been trending for a while now and I can't tell you how much I love being handsfree, especially out with my family.  Not to mention, Pantone just named the color of the year for 2017 and that color is greenery so I think Kipling has nailed it on the head with this gorgeous backpack!  Plus it is super affordable!

And how adorable is this Sonix "That's Bananas" pouch?!  Priced at $45, this pouch is perfect for carrying alone or for loading up with your must haves and tossing into a tote bag.  Sonix has the most adorable, and affordable, accessories!  I personally love their phone cases too, they are adorable!

Okay...so I know many of us have been hearing about these amazing magnet masks and I've recently tried Dr. Brandt's "Magnetight Age-Defier".  I've been super pleased with this mask.  It is great for all skin types and leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated.  This would be a perfect gift for that gal in your life who loves beauty products and trying new things!

I can't say enough about OPI's "Infinite Shine" nail polish and duo pack.  I personally don't have the time to keep up gel manicures at my nail salon every two weeks.  As much as I love having beautiful nails, my schedule often times prevents me from getting to the nail salon so often.  So I've started using OPI's Infinite Shine instead and I LOVE it.  It is like having a gel manicure that you can do yourself and it doesn't require a light.  You need to use the duo kit with another Infinite Shine color and my personal favorite is "Big Apple Red".  I recommend buying the duo kit AND your favorite Infinite Shine color/colors.  Why not buy one for yourself and one for that gal in your life who loves doing her nails?!

Another nail polish that I love is Sally Hansen's "Color Therapy".  What's amazing about this particular polish is that it is infused with argan oil so it nourishes your nails while wearing it.  This would be great for someone who maybe wants to give their nails a bit of a break or who wants to treat their nails to a little more TLC!

Calling all makeup loving gals...this eye shadow palette from Make Up For Ever is an absolute STEAL!  It is only $34 and the metallic colors are perfect for creating a glam holiday look!  They are super bendable as well.  For the price, you cannot go wrong with this gorgeous palette!

The color of this Urban Expressions "Stevie" backpack is so rich and gorgeous.  I adore the shape of this backpack and how lightweight it is.  It is large enough to carry all of your essentials yet small enough to not feel weighted down!  It comes in 4 different colors and is only $80!!!  Again, this would be a great bag for the gal who is on the go and who enjoys being hands free!

Speaking of the gal on the go...every gal needs a rechargeable phone battery pack to carry in their purse.  I know we have all been there...on the brinks of 1% battery life with no way to recharge our phones.  So I don't leave home without my Bando battery pack!  Not only is it so chic and pretty to look at but it gives my phone more life and helps me stay in touch while out and about.

If I'm being honest, I have a new obsession and it is Quay Australia sunglasses!  Their sunnies are so gorgeous and great quality for a beyond affordable price!  If you are looking for unique sunglasses that make a style statement, then you must check out Quay Australia!  These are my first pair and I can't wait to get another pair...I personally have my eye on their "Stop & Stare" style!

One of my all time favorite lotions to us Jergens "Ultra Healing" lotion.  I've used this for YEARS and anytime I switch out and try something new, I always find myself coming right back.  It leaves my skin so soft and smooth and the light scent is divine!!!  Put some Jergens in your own stocking or the stocking of a loved one...they will thank you!

What woman wouldn't LOVE a beautiful pair of new heels?!  These stunning Marc Fisher patent leather pumps make such a statement.  The color is so rich and beautiful and the style is so classic.  Not to mention, patent leather elevates the look of a heel so much.  These heels are high quality for an affordable price and they come in a variety of colors!

During the winter months, I struggle with keeping my hands moisturized.  My hands tend to crack and my cuticles do as well.  I've started using OPI's Avoplex products and have definitely noticed a difference.  I've been putting this on every day and have even had Peter use it.  Both the hand lotion and the cuticle oil would make a great stocking stuffer or addition to the Infinite Shine nail polish that I shared above.

Hope you all have a great week ahead, the excitement is building in our home and we are all awaiting Santa's arrival!  As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Decking the Halls with At Home

MANTEL DECOR C/O AT HOME

The day after Thanksgiving, Peter and I head up to the attic to gather our Christmas decorations.  This year when we brought our decorations down, the reality hit that I had actually gotten rid of a lot of our holiday decor when we moved back in August.  So, I stood there looking at just a few small boxes quickly realizing that it was time to shop!

When we moved, we knew we wanted a fresh start so for us that meant everything.  Because we parted with almost all of our old Christmas decor we were left with a beautiful blank slate to work with.

I was so excited to pick out new decor and I had the best experience shopping for these pieces at At Home.  I had visions in my mind of what I wanted our mantel to look like but I also didn't know exactly what I would use to achieve it.

If you've never shopped At Home, you must!  Their accessories are so unique and you are sure to find what you are looking for or even something better than what you had in mind.  That's exactly what happened when I was there shopping for holiday decor.  There were sooooo many amazing options that fit nicely with my vision and I enjoyed playing around with various accessories and combinations until I achieved my favorite look with the pieces that I bought.  You should have seen me in the store, I was organizing things on the shelves and switching things in and out as if it were our mantel!  A good two hours later and I was heading home like Santa with a bag full of goodies (well and Santa cam too)!

We spend so much time in our family room so I wanted it to feel warm and cozy, which it does.  Our Christmas tree is to the left of our mantel so it all ties together so nicely and we love sitting in this room, with the fireplace on, spending time together as a family.  This time of year, we are watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows!   Our family room is our favorite room and I just love seeing it decorated for Christmas.

So my reason for redecorating this holiday season was simply because we wanted a fresh start in our brand new home and because I wanted our family room to have that extra warmth to it!  And I'm so glad that I was able to find the perfect pieces at At Home!

If you are looking for some finishing touches for your home this holiday season, you must check out At Home!  I'm sure you will find a thing, two, or three that will help make your home as warm and cozy as ours!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by.  My in-laws arrive today so I will be busy ensuring we are ready for their stay!  Have a great day everyone.

Show Stopping Holiday Dress with New York & Company

*Today's post was in collaboration with New York & Company via Shopping Links.

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

I love a beautiful show stopping dress that is versatile enough to wear for a variety of occasions.  Something that is perfect for those more formal occasions but casual enough to wear dressed down when your occasion may not call for as much glitz and glam.  And because we are in the heart of the holiday season, I'm also talking about a dress that is beyond perfect for all of your upcoming holiday parties!

This show stopping "Del Mar" dress from the Eva Mendes collection at New York & Company is a classic beauty that is sure to be a go-to dress in your wardrobe.  It is sleeveless, the material is thick and is such amazing quality, the birds of paradise print is unique and bold, the red color is bright and vibrant, and the fit is so flattering on so many body types!  OH...AND it has pockets!!!  It's perfect in my books.  PLUS, it is on SALE!!!

If you wish to add a bit more sparkle to this dress, add something like this gorgeous rhinestone buckle belt.  This dress looks absolutely gorgeous without a belt too!  I finished my look with these lace up strappy gladiator heels with pom detail!  How adorable are these heels?!  They are just so festive!

New York & Company has been one of my go-to destinations this holiday season for great gift ideas as well as for holiday perfect looks.  If you didn't catch my holiday gift guides, you can check them out HERE & HERE.

The Iconic Sweetie with Links of London

*Today's post was in collaboration with Links of London via Shopping Links.

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

The "Iconic Sweetie Bracelet" from Links of London is inspired by the candy charm bracelets that many of us wore as a child and today, it is designed to be a timeless representation of our own personal stories.  When you design your Sweetie bracelet, you are picking out charms that mean something to you!

I had a hard time picking out my charms because when browsing through all of the options, there were so many that could easily represent something meaningful in my life.  I immediately was drawn to the house charm for many reasons.  The charm is called "home is where the heart is", which is a saying I have said so often and that I truly believe in.  We also moved into our brand new home this past August so this particular charm holds such a very special meaning for me and my family...it represents a new beginning as well.

I also picked the feather charm, which to me reminds me to keep a light heart and a lighthearted perspective on things and this gorgeous acorn charm, which is a symbol of luck and power.  I've always heard that acorns are representative of "luck" so why not wear a little luck around your wrist every day.

Next up, I am going to add the initials for our children.  There are so many other charms that I cannot wait to add to my Sweetie bracelet.

The Sweetie is such a great gift for someone special in your life or you may even want to treat yourself and start your very own personalized bracelet.  Either way, I'm certain you will cherish your Sweetie for years to come.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a great day!
