Habitat for Humanity & Chico's Event Recap

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson & Chelsea Rochelle

OLIVE JACKET // SILVER JACKET // TOP // DENIM // SCARF

Last week was such a wonderful, inspiring, and heart felt week.  I partnered with Habitat for Humanity and Chico's FAS for the #HomeIsTheKey campaign.  It was such an honor to be on site with so many amazing people...those who have invested their time and resources for two lovely ladies, Amanda and Ashlee, (the new homeowners)!

It has ben a while since I have participated in a Habitat for Humanity build and after learning so much more last week and being onsite helping, it has renewed my desire to become more involved.

Amanda and Ashlee are two very strong and committed women who are dedicated to providing the best life possible to their beautiful children.  Their new homes are a fresh start and I know they will enjoy settling and establishing roots.  Their children are just the sweetest and they seemed so happy as well...they are especially excited to decorate their new room!  As Amanda and Ashlee cut the ribbon for their new home, I'm pretty certain most everyone got teary eyed.  You can just tell how happy everyone is in these images.

I admire Habitat for Humanity even more after learning what all of their homeowners go through to get the keys to their new home.  Amanda and Ashlee started this process by submitting a 20 page application.  Once selected, they then go through a variety of courses and trainings as well as many hours of sweat equity volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.  Habitat homes are not gifted to these families, they do pay a mortgage but it is a mortgage that fits well within their budget.  Habitat for Humanity provided the resources and support so Amanda and Ashlee can be set up for success.

Chico's FAS was such an important partner with these builds.  The team from headquarters flew in and so many associates from Chico's, White House Black Market, and Soma Intimates participated in the final build days as well.  It was so inspiring to see so many women come together to add the final touches to Amanda and Ashlee's new homes.

The Property Brothers were also on site...they have been involved since the build kicked of on 4/2/18 and they have really gotten to know Amanda, Ashlee, and their families.  They built a bond so it was so special to see them help Amanda and Ashlee dedicate their homes and cut the ribbon!

What an amazing experience it was...one that will never forget!

If you want to get involved with this campaign you can donate at any Chico's, Soma Intimates, or White House Black market store.  Donations will be accepted through the end of May.  I encourage you to get involved too!  Every little bit makes a difference!

I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire Habitat for Humanity & Chico's FAS teams for inviting me to join you for this campaign.  Thank you White House Black Market for providing my outfits as well as Soma Intimates for providing some new pieces as well.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Joules Launches at Dillard's

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Have you heard that Joules has launched at Dillard's?!  This amazing British brand has traveled across the pond to bring us their feminine colorful and beautiful pieces!  Lucky us!

Yesterday I partnered with Joules and Dillard's for a launch event at the Cool Springs Galleria Mall.  It was a lot of fun to see all of the colorful Joules pieces in our local store, interact with customers, enjoy some sweet treats, and have our hair braided at the braid bar!

What I love most about Joules is their fun colorful prints!  I encourage you to stop in to your local Dillard's to check out the collection.  It is full of bright colors, subtle & bold florals, stripes, buffalo check, as well as some other fun prints.  You all know how much I love floral anything so these two floral Joules dresses are right up my alley!

I also wanted to share some of my favorite Joules pieces!  I love the stripe/floral combo fitted dress, the bold floral print shift dress, the large gingham fit and flare dress, and the striped t-shirt dress!  I also adore their rain jackets as well!

I hope you will take a moment to check out the Joules collection! You can shop online or at your local Dillard's store!  Thank you to the wonderful Joules team as well as Dillard's for partnering for the launch event!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Kendra Scott + American Heart Association Event Recap

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

DRESS || EARRINGS || RINGS || HEELS

During "heart month" (February), I hosted my annual event with Kendra Scott benefiting the American Heart Association.  This was my 3rd year hosting an event during heart month in honor of Addison and to help raise money for our local American Heart Association chapter.

We had such a wonderful evening!  Everyone who attended was treated to sips & sweets as well as hairstyling by The Dry House and fashion illustrations by Brittany Fuson!  Of course the highlight of the evening was the SHOPPING!  It was so much fun to see what everyone picked out!

Kendra Scott donated 20% of all sales from this event to the American Heart Association!  How amazing is that?!

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the following to Kendra Scott for affording me the opportunity to host a "give back" event each year.  Thank you to the entire Nashville Kendra Scott team...you girls ROCK and I'm so thankful to have your support & friendship.

The American Heart Association of Greater Nashville for being a part of the evening and for allowing me to use my voice to help raise awareness about heart defects and heart disease in women.

To my family and friends who either attended the event or participated from afar...it truly means the world to me and my family!  Thank you so very much for supporting me and this cause!

To The Dry House and Brittany Fuson for being a part of the evening!  And to Madi for always being by my side capturing such special moments...you are the BEST!

And MANY THANKS to all of YOU who continue to visit my site...supporting KBStyled on this journey!  I'm thankful for each and every one of you!

Going Red for Addison + A Heartfelt Event with Kendra Scott

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

There is so much more to this red dress than just a bright bold color, a figure flattering silhouette, and a beautiful ruffle detail.  This dress has meaning...the reason I wear this red dress HAS meaning and it is all about Addison!

For those of you who have been regular visitors to KBStyled, you will most likely recall "Addison's heart story" that I have shared for the last 2 years.

You see, Addison was born with a heart defect...her heart was a little less than perfect although she seemed absolutely PERFECT in our eyes.  From the day she was born, there was always a dark cloud that followed us around knowing that one day, Addison's tiny heart would have to be fixed.  What this meant is that our sweet baby girl had to undergo open heart surgery to mend her broken heart.

Surgery day came and went with much success and she is a thriving, spirited, funny, adventurous, loving, and smart 6 year old!  Read more about our "Addison's heart story" HERE!

Having gone through this experience with our sweet little girl we have become more aware about how we can give back in a way that benefits & supports others who may have a similar condition or who may have overcome heart related health issues.

For the last several years I have been involved with our local American Heart Association chapter.  Being able to share Addison's story and use my voice through KBStyled has been such a blessing.

Giving back to the American Heart Association is important to me and my family.  This year marks my 3rd year hosting an event with Kendra Scott to benefit the American Heart Association.

On 2/13/18, I will be hosting an "give back" event with Nashville's local Kendra Scott where a percentage of the proceeds will be donated back to the American Heart Association.  My hope in doing this is that I will bring more awareness both locally and nationally.

I've included the details for our event below!  You don't have to be local to get involved.  If you wish to contribute to this cause, you are welcome to contact our local Kendra Scott store and purchase the "Addison earrings" (see pic below) or any other item so the proceeds will go to the Nashville American Heart Association.

To Order:

Kendra Scott Nashville
"Addison" earrings or any other item
Call: 1-615-600-4353

Every bit of involvement makes a difference!  Last year I heard from so many of you with personal heart health related stories and I imagine there are many stories to share.

If you live locally, I'd love for you to come out the evening of the event to meet, enjoy an evening out, and support a great cause!  I hope to see you there!

On behalf of Addison and our family, thank you for letting me share a bit about her story with you!  I appreciate you taking the time to read today's post and if you ever wish to share your own personal story, please don't hesitate to reach out!
