ADDISON'S LOOKS - DRESS, TOP, PANTS & JACKET C/O MATILDA JANE

Dearest Peanut,

There is so much that I want to tell you, show you, teach you yet there is so much that I am must learn from you at the same time.  I sit with you and observe all that you do and it just amazes me how beautiful you are from the inside out.  Your radiant spirit is such a bright light and you exude a certain confidence that I admire.

With eyes wide open, you truly see life around you and all of the beauty that surrounds us.  Your laughter is one of the most beautiful sounds and I could watch you dance and twirl to the beat of your own drum forever.

You are kind, funny, generous, sweet, smart, silly, stubborn, and beautiful...in my opinion, the most perfect little girl that any Mommy could hope for.

I'm so so lucky to be your Mommy and I look forward to a lifetime of memories with you!  I cherish you, adore you, and will love you forever and always my sweet pea!

All my love, today and always,
Mommy

p.s Mommy loves seeing you dressed in your Matilda Jane outfits...you look beautiful and I had the best time capturing so many giggles and twirls with you.

JTV Pearl Earring Giveaway

Photos || Madi Flournoy Henderson

**This post is sponsored by JTV. I was paid for this post and received a JTV jewelry piece for myself and one to giveaway.

A ragged rough grain of sand is transformed over time, slowly growing into an object of great value and beauty...the PEARL!  A pearl symbolizes honesty, purity, wisdom, and integrity.

From a very young age, I would spend time looking through my Mom's jewelry box.  I was always trying on her pieces and asking her if I could "have them".  "One day" she would say.    And I remember her telling me how classic and timeless pearls have always been.  Pearls are a piece that every woman should have in her jewelry box.

My Mom gave me my first set of pearl earrings and my first pearl necklace and I have them in a special place to gift to our daughter one day.  Because of their classic and timeless qualities, wearing my pearls has always made me feel like a true southern belle.

And did you know that the birthstone for the month of June is in fact a pearl?!  JTV has the most beautiful selection of pearls...from earrings, to bracelets, to necklaces you can find a very special piece for yourself or for someone special.  And even better, their pieces are super affordable yet high quality!

I'm wearing a pair of their gorgeous pearl drop earrings!  I love the classic look of these earrings.  The pearl is large enough to stand out and I love that they dangle ever so slightly.  I'm also so excited to share that JTV.com will be giving away a pair of these earrings to one of my supporters as well.  Entering is easy...just click on this LINK and follow the instructions to enter.

NO PURCHASE NECCESSARY.  Ends 6/21/16 at 11:59:59 p.m PT.  Open to legal residents of the US/DC who are 18+ years of age.  For full details, see Official Rules.  Winners will be contacted on or about June 27, 2016.

So tell me, do you own any pearls and if so, do you remember the story behind receiving them?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

SUMMER LOVIN' IN MATILDA JANE

Photos || Madi Flournoy Henderson

MOMMY & DAUGHTER LOOKS: C/O MATILDA JANE

My Photographer may just think I am crazy.  She says she doesn't but how could she not?!  Shooting pictures with two rambunctious kiddos who only want to run wild and free is like trying to corral wild horses.  Not saying that I've ever done that, but I can only imagine what that would be like and well, it seems like a logical comparison.  Not to mention, trying to keep my cool and not turn into "that crazy Mommy" was well...again, my Photographer may think I'm crazy.

They feed off of each other...one does this so the other has to follow.  It's like their own little language.  They communicate through looks at one another and don't even have to speak.  Next thing you know, its like they made a joint decision pathologically and they are off in the distance executing the exact plan they just put in place.

"Get back here" I call and in the opposite direction they go!  Now don't get me wrong, they are good listeners and the mind me (most of the time) but when taken to a beautiful wide open space to shoot pictures all the while telling them that they can't run around and play...well, that's like dangling a carrot in front of a horse, or rabbit, or donkey.  You get what I'm saying.

So what did we end up doing...we played!  They ran, they picked flowers, they twirled, they searched for one live animal to feed something to, and we tickled.  Mostly, we laughed and had such a great time (at least once I told "that crazy Mommy" to take a hike).

Let it go and let it be I told myself.  As I look back at these images (there are tons more where these came from), I remember all of the giggles that we shared and I think the pictures beautifully captured the fun we were having.

We were just comfortable being ourselves.  And I've got to say that my look from Matilda Jane is one of the most comfortable no fuss looks I've worn in a long time.  I just love how relaxed I felt wearing this outfit!  And Addison's look is just DARLING if I say so myself.  She felt so special wearing her outfit and coordinating with me.  Plus, anything that twirls well gets an A+ in her book!

So next time you are thinking of taking photos with your little ones, remember to have as much fun as possible...everyone's genuine happiness will shine through.  And check out Matilda Jane for some gorgeous coordinating Mommy & Me looks!

It's Friday y'all...enjoy!  And as always, thanks so much for stopping by...have a great day!

Ruffled Up in Matilda Jane

Photos || Madi Flournoy Henderson

I can't help but look at these pictures of our sweet "baby" girl and wonder how she got so big!  She is growing up way too fast and I just wish time would slow down.  She brings us so much joy...her smile and laughter is just the best thing EVER!

We always end up giggling (and tickling) during our shoots together and I'm excited to team up with Matilda Jane for today's post.  I'm wearing the "Light As Air Dress" and Addison is wearing the "Dune Buggy Emilia Dress".  I adore the soft sweet look of Addison's dress and the ruffle detail on my dress is so feminine and fun!  And I also love being able to coordinate with Addison without being too matchy matchy.  Matilda Jane has the perfect pieces for those "Mommy & Me" looks!

Hope you all had a great long weekend and as always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Addison, Me, & Matilda Jane

Photos || Madi Flournoy Henderson

Do you see that little ham?!  That's our Addison and she and I had the best time shooting these Matilda Jane looks together.  She didn't need much guidance, she kind of just "did her thing" if you know what I mean. ;-)

Addison loves trying on clothes.  She will put on an outfit and within 15 minutes she is back in her room changing into another outfit.  This would go on all day long if we would let her!  So when she receives new Matilda Jane pieces in the mail, you can image the fashion show that she puts on for us. I can always tell how special she feels when wearing her Matilda Jane pieces and I can totally understand why...they are ADORABLE!

She always tells me how much she loves dressing like Mommy or dressing to match Mommy so when we have the opportunity to dress in coordinating pieces she is sooooo happy.  I've enjoyed wearing Matilda Jane as well...their pieces are feminine, classic, pretty, and down right comfortable!

I adore the floral print on this "Marzipan Rose Dress"...the colors and print POP on the muted grey backdrop.  I've added the "Spoonful of Sugar" dress extender to add an extra feminine layer with a little peek-a-boo of lace detailing.

Stay tuned for some fun Matilda Jane looks that I've recently shot with Addison.  Excited to share more with you all.

As always, thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Mommy & Me With Matilda Jane

Photos || Madi Flournoy Henderson

What a fun time Addison and I had shooting these looks from Matilda Jane!  I don't do a lot of posts with our children simply because I am so protective of them but from time to time I will stand alongside of both for fun posts like this one.  And these looks were just too cute to not share with everyone!

Addison is such a ham and I think she enjoyed being in front of the camera. ;-)  I was really proud of her.  You Momma's know that getting your young children to smile in front of a camera can be a task in itself and not an easy one at that.  Addison almost knew what to do without much direction...she was a natural but there may have just been a little bribing along the way too!

And I can't get over how adorable Addison looks when wearing Matilda Jane!  I absolutely LOVE their clothes on her and she loves them too.  They fit so nicely and the quality is excellent...not to mention they hold up really well with multiple washes.  And how adorable is this "Ginger Top" that I am wearing from Matilda Jane?!  Quite frankly, I am completely obsessed with it.  It gives a slight nod to the 70's with it's fun vibrant print while offering a much more modern fit!

If you are familiar with Matilda Jane, I am sure you share the same love for it and if you are not, I highly encourage you to spend some time browsing their site!  If interested in ordering anything, you will have the option to search for a trunk keeper in your area.  You will then contact that person directly!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by...have a great day!

Mommy & Me with Matilda Jane

Hi everyone!  I'm welcoming a special little guest on the blog today...our sweet pea Addison!  I can tell you, this shoot did not start out great...being the strong willed independent little girl that she is, she wanted nothing to do with taking pictures.

No matter how much I talked with her beforehand about a "special project" with Mommy, how much I told her the colors in her dress looked like those of Anna's dress for the coronation (yes, we still love "Frozen"), or how awesome the reward was that was waiting in my pocket (yes, there was a little bribery involved) she wasn't having anything to do with it.

BUT...I quickly remembered the tips that I shared with you about having a successful photo season from Monday's post and I immediately put those tips into play myself.  She and I started playing together and the more playing we did, the more fun we both had and the better the pictures turned out.  I mean, how happy (and cute I must say) does she look jumping in these photos?!

And how adorable is this Matilda Jane outfit?!  Before moving to Nashville, I knew nothing about Matilda Jane...it was not on my radar.  After moving here, I always spotted little girls wearing these adorable pieces that were so unique and colorful.  Shortly after, I was invited to my first Matilda Jane home trunk show and fell in love with the brand.

I bought a few pieces for Addison at that trunk show and I've stayed in touch with their seasonal releases ever since.  I am also wearing Matilda Jane...I just adore this sweet floral top and this vest is so comfortable!  They carry comfortable, casual & unique pieces for us Momma's as well!

If you haven't heard of Matilda Jane, I encourage you to browse their website!  To order, you simply find a "Trunk Keeper" in or around your area...it is so simple!
