Mixing Florals + Cheetah Print for Fall

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Welcome back!  Over the last couple of weeks, I've unintentionally taken time off from weekly posts here on KBStyled.  We went to Disney World for Fall break, had family in town, and just last week, Addison broke her arm.  Two weeks of lots of fun and some unexpected firsts.

As you can imagine, things have been a bit busy (and chaotic at times) but I'm so glad to be back here with YOU.  I have a lot of great posts planned so stay tuned and check back here often, especially as we head into the holiday season at full speed!  I mean, can you believe it is already Halloween?!  I know I can't.  Reins is going to be a skeleton this year and Addison, a friendly ghost.

We've really been enjoying a lot of Fall activities as well and it has finally started to cool off here in Nashville.  We actually had frost on the ground this morning...a little too chilly for me but I'm happy to now truly experience the joys of Fall, the cooler weather included.

As you know, cooler temps typically means that we all get to start layering up a bit more and wearing light jackets.  I've been excited to share today's look with you all because it just so happens to be one of my all time favorite layered Fall looks.

I love Fall florals and this blouse and skirt immediately caught my attention.  I love the rich black backdrop with the green and yellow floral print.  I'm also a huge fan of mixing prints and in my opinion, there is nothing better than florals paired with a fun cheetah print.  I fell hard for this gorgeous, and super affordable, cheetah print coat.  It's not a heavy coat but it's perfect for layering this time of year.

To dress down this look a bit, pair the blouse & coat with your favorite pair of dark denim.  I've worn both with these black distressed jeans.  You can also wear the skirt with a chunky sweater and knee high boots.  All of these pieces are super versatile...you can create so many different looks.

I'd love to hear how you will be spending Halloween and/or if you have any fun Fall traditions!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and again, thank you for your patience as I get ramped back up here on the blog.  I appreciate each and every one of you!

Not So Basic Fall Basics with Nordstrom

Today's post is sponsored by Nordstrom.  All opinions are my own.

I love classic wardrobe staples that are considered basic but that aren't so basic.  When looking for the perfect black blazer and white v-neck tee for this Fall season, I went straight to Nordstrom as I knew they would offer the best selection.  Sure enough, I found exactly what I was looking for!

In a prior post, I shared with you all that blazers are on trend this season and Nordstrom has an amazing selection of gorgeous blazers...from classic black, to velvet, to plaid, to military inspired...they have just about every style of blazer you could possibly think of!

I specifically was looking for a classic black blazer and when I came across this longline boyfriend blazer, it immediately stood out to me.  What I love most about this particular blazer is its length...I wanted something that hit below my hip.  I was also searching for a light weight blazer...one that I can wear over tees, dresses, and casual tops.  The fit is perfect as well...all in all, this particular blazer is exactly what I have been searching for!

Blazers are no longer just for the workplace.  Although structured and polished, they can absolutely be dressed down for a much more casual look.  Blazers are super versatile as well...wear a blazer to work and then pair it with a distressed denim and a tee for a casual weekend look.  Blazers are so chic and always add a polished touch to any outfit.

Nordstrom has been my go-to destination for Fall basics like this classic black blazer and this white v-neck tee!  I also wear these muted black distressed jeans, also from Nordstrom, all of the time...they have become one of my favorite pair of jeans.

I'd love to hear how you would style a blazer this season?!  Are you loving the blazer trend as much as I am?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Light Fall Layers with Nordstrom

Today's post in sponsored by Nordstrom.

Have you noticed that I like pairing floral prints with camo prints?! "Baby I'm sorry, I'm not sorry" (in  my best Demi Lovato voice).  There's just something about these two prints together that I LOVE!  Florals always make me feel so feminine while camo always makes me feel a bit more tough and edgy.  Both this dress and this camo jacket are perfect for Fall layering.

It hasn't even cooled off enough here in Nashville to truly consider it Fall yet, BUT cooler weather is on the way.  I'm taking advantage of light layers right now and Nordstrom always has the best selection of Fall dresses, light jackets, and booties.

This floral dress immediately caught my eye because of the creme backdrop, the rustic floral print, and all of the rich Fall colors.  I mean...can't you just see yourself walking through a park in this dress with Fall leafs dropping all around you?!  Don't mind my daydream. ;-)  I also love the choker neckline, which is a big trend for Fall 2017. p.s this dress is under $50!

And you've seen this camo jacket many times before and you will see it again!  I truly wear it all of the time...it is hands down my favorite camo jacket that I own.  The structured fit as well as the shoulder and zipper detail make this camo jacket stand out from all of the rest.  It's a great investment piece because camo is not going anywhere anytime soon.

I'd love to hear how you like to layer up for Fall and do you also like florals and camo together?!  What pieces from Nordstrom are you loving for Fall?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Camo In The City - NYFW Look

Photography by The Retro Penguin

For the past few years, camo has been trending and no, I'm not talking about for all of the hunting guru's, I'm talking for all the ladies out there.  I've loved this trend because it is so fun to take what is traditional a masculine print and add a feminine chic touch to it.

I've stepped out of my comfort zone a bit by wearing much more camo than I normally would.  In years past, I have only worn touches of camo such as a camo jacket, camo scarf, etc.  This year, during NYFW, I went a little further with a camo satin sleep dress and I'm so glad I took the risk!

The subtle camo print and subtle color scheme of this dress make it a stand out without being too "in your face", which I love.  I felt very feminine wearing this dress but also a bit tough because let's be honest, camo also lends itself to more of a tough girl vibe.

I wore this satin bomber jacket over top, this paisley print scarf for even more visual interest, and added a pop of funk and color with this fun little handbag.

If you aren't comfortable with camo, start with something small and work your way up.  If you have been wearing camo for years, this dress is for you!

p.s for a size reference, I'm wearing a S in the dress and an XS in the bomber jacket!

Do you love the camo trend as much as I do?

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead!

How I Keep My Teeth Pearly White with Tom's of Maine

Today's post is sponsored by Tom's of Maine.

Let's talk pearly whites!  I'm always asked "How do you keep your teeth so white?" and today, I'm going to share a bit about my experience using Tom's of Maine Luminous toothpaste.

There are so many whitening toothpastes available but there are some specific reasons that I decided to start using Tom's of Maine.  All of their oral care products are made with no artificial colors, flavors, fragrances or preservatives, nor are they tested on animals.  Tom's of Main Luminous White™ toothpaste is their most advance whitening toothpaste, it's safe on your enamel, AND safe for every day use.  It's also gluten free!  This natural toothpaste packs a punch and whitens within 2 weeks by removing more surface stains than regular fluoride toothpaste.

I've been interested in using more natural personal care products so I was thrilled to try Tom's of Main Luminous White™ toothpaste for a two week period and report my results!  And WOW...my teeth not only feel super clean with each brush but I can absolutely tell a difference in how white they are.  I LOVE the taste of this toothpaste too.  Every time I use it, I truly feel like I am using the best toothpaste available for my teeth...my Dentist would be proud!

If you've had interest in trying a natural whitening toothpaste, I highly recommend Tom's of Maine Luminous White™toothpaste.  Next time you are in Whole Foods or another natural food store, you should pick some up and give it a try...I stand behind my experience and I truly believe you will have a great experience using it as well!

I've been so pleased that I'm going to try more natural products from Tom's of Maine!

Have you tried this toothpaste or any other products from Tom's of Maine before?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a beautiful smiley day!

Falling For Kimonos and Wide Leg Pants

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

I'm sharing a bit more about what I wore while at New York Fashion Week and this outfit was another favorite of mine.  Trending this Fall season...wide leg pants and long kimonos!

This outfit was one of THE MOST comfortable outfits I've ever worn.  The wide leg pants offer so much comfort and movement as does the kimono.  I wore a silk cami underneath the kimono, a simple black bag, and these high heels to finish my look.

This Fall season, I will wear the wide leg pants a variety of ways and I will also pair the kimono with jeans and a long sleeve tee.

What do you think of wide leg pants and long kimonos?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by...hope you have a great day!
