I'm a sucker for a beautiful watch and even more so when the watch is super unique and stands out on its own.  This "Zebrawood & Maple" watch by JORD definitely does that!

A watch made out of wood?!  Who knew but I'm so glad that I now KNOW because their pieces are one of a kind...a conversation starter and a piece that you will find yourself wearing ALL of the time. At least I do.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, a beautiful JORD watch makes the perfect gift for both him and her!  Especially if that special someone loves wearing unique beautiful timepieces.

JORD also offers FREE shipping worldwide, sizing for your watch, and a 1 year warranty as well...the've got you covered!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Friday!

Stay The Path In Sweaty Betty

| Photos | Sweet Magnolia Photos

Before January 1st of this year, I sat down and thought through my weight loss and fitness goals.  I knew on the first day of this new year, I was going to take steps to make a change...steps to become a better me.

I've always enjoyed working out but I have also gone through phases where I was so dedicated and consistent with my workouts to going weeks without doing anything.

As a follow up to Friday's post (HERE), after Addison's surgery, I stayed home to take care of her throughout her recovery and during that time, I completely stopped working out.  I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted (unfortunately I am a stress eater and I LOVE sweets) so over time the weight piled on...20lbs of extra weight to be exact.

Last year, I ran my first half marathon, which was a HUGE accomplishment for me BUT, I was still eating whatever I wanted, which prevented me from loosing those extra 20lbs.

There was always an excuse not to start eating right and working out...#holidays.  I enjoy food and I don't like depriving myself of the foods that I have always loved.  But there had to come a time when I decided to give myself an opportunity to be fit again, to feel great again, and most importantly to be healthy again.

So, as of today, I am 24 days into Whole 30.  If you haven't heard of or read about Whole 30 (and you are intrigued) I definitely recommend that you check it out.

Basically, the way I am eating has completely changed (no diary, no sugar, no grains, etc)...meats, veggies, fruits, some nuts, and waer...that's what has been on my menu for the past 24 days.

I don't intend to stop at 30 days.  I may relax a little on how stringent the Whole 30 plan is but I truly plan to continue shifting my perspective on food and my relationship with food.  YES, I will eat cheese again, YES I will have wine again, and YES I will have desserts again...just not all of the time.

This post was never intended to be about my weight loss and fitness goals, nor was it intended to educate anyone on Whole 30 (I still have a lot to learn) but I wanted to share some of my personal struggles/journey with you all.  Maybe I will write post about Whole 30 a little closer to the completion of my first 30.

And of course I have to say that I will continue to feel confident in cute workout gear like this Sweaty Betty tunic and leggings as I continue to lose weight.  I actually really look forward to investing in new workout gear as part of my journey towards a more strong healthy me.

Have you set any health/fitness goals for yourself this year?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by...have a great start to your week!

Go Red For Women...Go Red For Addison

RED DRESS || BAG C/O || EARRINGS C/O || HEELS (SIMILAR HERE & HERE)

I've been so excited to share today's post all week long...it is a post that is very near and dear to my heart because just a little over a year ago our sweet daughter, Addison, had open heart surgery.

I know, gasp, OPEN HEART SURGERY.  It still takes my breath away to say it out loud and of course writing this takes me back to that exact day when I watched a team of medical professionals take her off to surgery while she held a nurses' phone in her hand watching "Frozen".

The myriad of emotions at that time in our lives was overwhelming.  Addison's case was rather common, unlike some children who have more severe cases with life long hurdles to overcome.  So we were the lucky ones.

Six hours of surgery and minutes that felt like hours just ticking by as we waited to hear how she was doing.   "Beautifully" was the report that we received from her surgeon..."Addison did beautifully"!

Her heart has been repaired and beyond frequent checkups, she is expected to live a normal full healthy life!   Thank God...our baby girl's heart has been mended.

Through this process we have met other families who share a similar story as ours and it has also provided us an opportunity to connect with our local American Heart Association.

Just this past year, I was invited to join a "passion committee" with our local American Heart Association.  This invitation was such a welcomed invitation as I had been pondering how to become more involved with our AHA chapter and how best to honor Addison and give back.

Spreading the word about heart disease and the impact that this has on women is a large focus of this committee.  Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer of women?!  Heart attack & stroke kills 1 in 3 women.  Many women don't think about heart disease and they certainly don't think they could ever fall victim to this disease.

I'm sharing all of this because there is a way for YOU to make a difference.  The American Heart Association is celebrating 12 years of the "Go Red For Women" movement.   The more awareness, the more lives that can be saved!

National Wear Red Day is on February 5, 2016 and I encourage all of you to wear something red on this day (it can be anything...a top, a scarf, a piece of jewelry, etc).  Join the fight against heart disease and help me honor not only Addison, but all of those women and children who have faced either heart disease or a heart defect.

I'm also so excited to share with you that I will be partnering with The American Heart Association and Kendra Scott to host our 1st annual event in honor of heart month, the Go Red For Women movement, and our sweet Addison.  The event will be on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 6-8pm at our local Kendra Scott store and I hope you will join us if you live close by (invitation is below).

Kendra Scott has been such an advocate for giving back and this will be the second event I have hosted with them to benefit our local AHA chapter.  I feel so very lucky to have such an amazing brand as a part of my personal mission to honor Addison and to bring awareness to heart disease and its impact on women.

What's even more special is that I was given the opportunity to design a pair of gorgeous red Kendra Scott earrings in honor of Addison and we are calling them the "Addison" earrings!  How special is that?!  These are the perfect earrings to honor all of those #heartwarriors out there!

For any "Addison" earrings that are purchased, 10% will go back to the American Heart Association! If you wish to purchase a pair of "Addison" earrings and in turn donate to the AHA, please call our local Nashville store and ask to speak with either Abby or Beth!  Below is our store's contact information.

To Order:

"Addison" earrings
Call: 1-615-600-4353

Other calls to action:

1)  Will you commit to wearing red on 2/5/16, "National Wear Red Day"?!
2) If you live locally, will you attend our event on Thursday, 2/4/16 to honor Addison and raise awareness (and charitable donations) for our local AHA chapter?!
3) If you haven't had your well woman check recently, will you commit to scheduling this and following through to ensure that your health is in balance?!

If you have had any personal experience with heart disease or have had a child that has a story to share, please let me know in the comments below.

Thank you so very much for reading today's post.  I know it was much longer than normal but it's hard to open your heart and share something so important to you in just a few sentences.  In advance, thank you for any support you will provide in my mission to honor Addison and all others impacted by defects or heart disease.  Much love!

Anjolee - The Art of Jewelry

| Photos | Kate Davis Photo

There are so many gift giving occasions right around the corner, starting with Valentine's Day, and what better way to surprise someone than with a beautiful piece of jewelry.  Fellas, listen up about Valentine's Day and ladies, it may be time to drop some hints in your man's mailbox!

Anjolee has a beautiful selection of pieces that make perfect gifts for all of those special occasions.  Ladies, I don't know about you but I always love receiving a new piece of jewelry like this gorgeous ruby (my birthstone) & diamond ring.  Often times I wear costume jewelry but I love pulling out my "fine jewelry" to wear as often as possible too!

Besides this gorgeous ring, I especially love their gemstone bracelets!  Personally, I would love to design one of their gemstone bracelets to include my birthstone (ruby) along with those of my children too.

And I must admit, I already have my eyes on some of their wedding bands as Peter and I will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this year and we are talking about potentially renewing our vows!  Believe me, I've already been dropping hints in his mailbox about another diamond band and I will point him in Anjolee's direction!

Do you also love receiving jewelry on special occasions?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Southern Chic with Draper James

| Photos | Kate Davis Photo

I'm sure you have heard far and wide that Reese Witherspoon started her own apparel/home brand, Draper James, and that she has opened her first store here in Nashville.  How lucky are we?!

She has injected so much southern charm into her brand and her pieces are absolutely beautiful.  Unique, fun, feminine, timeless, contemporary and classic are just a few words to describe her pieces!

A few months back, I was lucky enough to meet Reese, when Draper James celebrated their grand opening here in Nashville.  It was amazing to learn more about her story, how Draper James came about, as well as all of the southern influence that played an important role in everything from the apparel designs to the charming southern details throughout her store.

In today's post, I've styled two looks around this gorgeous Belle Detachable Faux-Fur Collar Coat. The first is a more casual yet still chic look and the second, a more dressy look.  Everything that I am wearing is Draper James with the exception of my heels.

I've paired this beautiful Printed Dogwood Sweater with a pair of "Tootsie" jeans, these classic statement stud pearl earrings, and this ADORABLE tote..."Totes Y'all"!!!  I mean, does it get anymore southern than that?!  And what I love about this sweater is that it has a detachable collar too!  Leave the collar on for classic preppy look or remove it to achieve an even more casual look.

And how gorgeous is this Frannie Cap Sleeve Jacquard Dress?!  The fit of this dress is amazing and the fabric is absolutely stunning.  Talk about a statement dress...one that is perfect for the office (throw on a blazer) and perfect for all of those special occasions too.  Personally, I'm thinking Valentine's Day right now!  To complete a special occasion look, I've finished this look with the Red Velvet Statement Earrings!

Need I say more about this Belle Detachable Faux-Fur Collar Coat?!  This beauty speaks for herself if you ask me.  What I love most about this coat is that it literally goes with everything and is perfect for dressing up or dressing down as I've shown here.  The faux-fur collar is detachable so you can also achieve a more casual look by removing the collar.  I personally LOVE the faux fur collar so I wear this coat with both casual and dressy looks...collar intact!

When wearing these Draper James pieces, I always feel so polished and put together!

If you haven't checked out Draper James yet, I encourage you to indulge in some serious southern charm that will have you feeling like a Southern Belle in no time!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

p.s head over to "Love, Reese", Draper James' blog, to see my feature today...it was so fun to answer a little Q&A too!

Vera Bradley Launches A Fragrance & Beauty Line

In efforts to become more of a lifestyle brand, Vera Bradley is doing some AMAZING things right now that are grabbing the attention of many!  Just last week, on January 14, 2016, Vera Bradley launched their new fragrance and beauty line and I'm here to tell you that they have outdone themselves.  I hosted a girls night in last Thursday to introduce the new line to several of my girlfriends and I know they were all very impressed as well!

Vera Bradley released 4 different scents...Cotton Flower, Macaroon Rose, Appleberry Champagne, and Vanilla-Sea Salt.  They all smell so good but my FAVORITE scent is Appleberry Champagne...what can I say, I'm a more fruity girl!  I also really love Macaroon Rose!

Each scent comes in an Eau de Toilette, a hand cream, a body lotion, a body wash, a scented candle in a glass jar, & a scented candle in a tin.  The hand cream's and Eau de Toilette's are also available in 1 ounce, 4 ounce, and 15ml sizes, which is perfect for traveling.  And the packaging is just beautiful...vibrant, colorful, and so appealing to the eye!

AND what I think you will love most is that each piece within their entire line is under $50!  So not only can you treat yourself but you can also buy items from their line as gifts for others.  Birthday, house warming, Valentine's Day, etc...perfect for just about any gift giving occasion really.  If you aren't sure which scent someone would like, a candle would be an excellent option and so would the 4 piece Eau de Toilette spray set!

I've also created a collage below of some of my favorites!

When you check out Vera Bradley's new line, let me know what you think and which scent is your favorite!  As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful start to your week!
