The Little White Dress

Having a little white dress, LWD, is just as important to have in your wardrobe as is a little black dress, LBD!  A classic white dress is such a crisp clean piece to wear during the hot summer months.

I'm particularly drawn to white dresses simply because they are a blank slate...you can dress it up or down and wear any color with it!  Accessories are your best friend when wearing a little white dress.  The options are endless...you can keep it minimal or really add some personality.  Consider a white dress to be a blank canvass and you are the artist!

Another summer must have is a great hat like this straw hat!  I've worn this hat all summer and it is such a nice compliment to so many summer outfits, including whenever you are in your suit on the beach or by the pool.

And how gorgeous is this personalized tote?!  Another favorite must have!  I carry this bag all of the time and love that it has my initials on it!

TIME IS A GIFT with MOVADO

Peter and I have spent a lot of time lately talking about how we wish time could stand still.  How we wish we could make time slow down so we could spend more "time" enjoying the stage of life that we are in.

We cherish the life that we have together and the life that we have built for our little family.  The time we spend together is precious and is never to be taken for granted.  We count our blessings daily and we can only hope that our time will never be limited...that our time will always be spent together as a family, by each others side.

Watching our children grow over the years has been such a gift.  Being parents is our most important job and it just happens to be the coolest too!  We always knew that the years would pass quickly and although our children are still very young, we look back on the last 7 years and often times wonder where the time has gone.

Every parent before us has shared with us that the days may often times seem long but the years will go by fast and that is so true.  More recently our days have seemed to pass by quickly too.  As busy parents of two school age active children, we are often times planning ahead so much so that we forget to live in the moment and enjoy the little things.  So we have really spent more time focusing on our core family unit, just the 4 of us, and ensuring that we are living in the present.  Spending less time right now filling our agenda with to-do's and activities...staying at home a bit more and enjoying a slower pace of life.

Although we wish we could stop the hands of time, the time that we spend together is timeless...just like this stunning Movado Edge special edition watch.  The black and rose gold design creates a sleek, chic, classic watch.  The thin bangle bracelet is so feminine and dainty too.

There are two things that I won't apologize for...wearing too many stripes and wearing this straw hat ALL. OF. THE. TIME.  My obsession with stripes and this essential summer hat is obvious but what's not to love?!

This adorable off the shoulder striped maxi dress is the perfect summer dress that is light weight, comfortable, and ideal for hot summer days.  It's also the perfect dress to pack for your next vacation...wear it over your swimsuit and wear it out to dinner at night!  Plus it comes in petite, regular, and tall sizes!  Oh...and it's only $60...now that's my kind of dress!

Every summer I purchase one summer hat that goes with everything and this straw hat was the perfect find this season.  I've worn it while on vacation most recently and I wear it regularly with my every day looks.  It's chic, stylish, goes with everything, and is perfect to help protect your face while out in the out summer sun.

Simply. Sophisticated. Summer. with Banana Republic

With the official kickoff of summer right around the corner, I've added some sophisticated summer essentials to my wardrobe.  This adorable striped bow-neck shift dress immediately caught my eye when shopping Banana Republic's newest summer pieces.  Stripes always make me think of summertime and I adore bow-neck detail.  Plus a shift dress is perfect when trying to achieve an easy no fuss summertime look.

Every summer, I always pick up what I consider to be two summer essentials...a great straw hat and a gorgeous straw bag.  You may have noticed that I've been wearing my straw hat with everything...that's how much I love it and I've been carrying my tote bag nearly everyday too.  I love the simplicity yet chic style of both of these accessories and their neutral color truly goes with everything.

For a size reference, I am wearing a size 4 in the dress (which is on sale for only $60 btw) and I'm wearing a L/XL in the hat as I like my hats to fit a bit looser.
