Dressed Up in Storets

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

I've posted about Storets before and how much I love all of their pieces...quite frankly, I'm obsessed!  Their pieces are so unique...you won't find them elsewhere.

I'm sharing this dress from Storets today and although it is no longer listed on their site, I have also pulled some of my favorite dresses right now.  With the holidays approaching, it's time to start planning for what you will be wearing to all of your holiday festivities!

Here are some of my favorites!

What will you be wearing this holiday season?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hop you have a great day!

Cozy with Home Living

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Last night I had a moment where I was sitting in our living room, with the subtle twinkle of our Christmas tree and the crackle of our fireplace, thinking about how much I enjoy being at home with my family.  The saying "home is where the heart is" couldn't ring more true, especially this time of year.

I've felt sentimental lately recognizing how quickly time passes and how fast our children are growing up.  This year has flown by, it feels like I have blinked and we've gone from January 1st to now almost December 1st. We busy ourselves with places to go and people to see and often times I just want us to cuddle up in our home and just be together...just the 6 of us (pups included)!  Call me selfish but lately, I've kind of wanted my family just to myself.

I'm pretty certain I was spoiled being able to spend every waking moment with them last week at Disney World.  It was amazing spending so much time together...time that we often don't get enough of.

Okay, sorry for the sentimental moment here but I am saying all of this because I am sharing a piece of our home with you today.  You won't see many personal posts on KBStyled and you also won't see much of our children (just personal choice, I'm rather protective of my babies) but I do love changing pace sometimes and sharing something outside of my typical style or beauty posts.

Just a few short months ago we purchased a new home and it feels AMAZING digging our roots in and making Nashville even more of our home than it has been over the past 4 years.

Part of digging in roots for us meant buying our house, check, and then of course comes the fun part...decorating!  We parted with much of what we had from years past because we wanted to start fresh...a new beginning of sorts.

So in these images, you will see lots of bare walls (we've made some progress since these pics were taken), very few accessories, and empty spaces.  We have lots to do but we know that slow and steady will win the race in the long run and that we will ultimately have it decorated just as we envision.

I'm a HUGE fan of decorative pillows...Peter would probably tell you that I tend to go overboard with the pillows but I truly feel that they immediately elevate your space.  They are an affordable accessory that you can easily change to alter the appearance of your space.

It was a a lot of fun to pick out the pillows for our couch and Joan & Rachel of HomeLiving on Etsy were delightful to work with.  We bought our area rug first and I picked the Velvet Cheetah pillow cover & the Blue Floral print cover to coordinate with our new rug.  I exchanged numerous messages with Joan & Rachel to ensure that I was picking pillow covers that would look great in our space.  I was so pleased when we received our new pillows...they fit in perfectly with my vision.

Working with HomeLiving was a pleasure and I would highly recommend this Etsy shop if you are in  the market for decorative pillows at an affordable price!

I'd love to know if you have any favorite stores, shops, etc that you like to shop at for home accessories, etc.  I'm always on the lookout for beautiful new pieces!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and today, for letting me share a place that is very special to me.  Have a great day!

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE FOR HER

The holidays are upon us and I'm so excited to kick off my gift guide series!  There are so many great gift guides out there but I will be searching high and low for amazing gifts that will help you check your family and friends off of your list (all while keeping your holiday shopping budget in mind because believe me, we all have one).

I hope to make your holiday shopping a bit easier and if you are anything like me, the crowds and long lines at most retailers this time of year continues to steer me more and more towards online shopping.  I'll pay a little extra for shipping if I don't have to fight traffic and wait in those long lines!

I'd also love to hear who you are shopping for this season so let me know by leaving a comment below!  If you need help, just let me know...I'm happy to help you get a jump start on your shopping this season!

Today, I've started with the ladies!  It's always much easier for me to shop for the women in my life because the options are abundant and there are just soooo many wonderful gifts for women.  So fellas, if you are reading this, take note!  I've picked just a few of my favorite gifts so far and there will be more to come.

I handpicked each of these gift ideas and I love them all but I must say that I adore these tassel earrings and these cashmere gloves (which are such a great buy)!  And personally I want to curl up in this turtleneck poncho.  What I love most about gifting a poncho or even a blanket scarf is that that both are great pieces for just about anyone.  If you aren't exactly sure of someones size, these are perfect because they are essentially 1 size fits all.

I'm all about giving the gift of comfort each season as well and this fleece robe is so dreamy!  Talk about being snuggly and warm all winter long.  Does anyone else live in their robe at home?!  I know I do!

AND I am totally OBSESSED with this druzy ring...I want one for myself!!!  It is so unique and fun...a statement piece that a jewelry loving gal in your life is sure to love!

If you are hanging in today, doing some online shopping, I hope you will take some time to check out my favorite picks for HER!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

The Balance of a Successful Career Woman with Vanity Fair

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

I receive this question a lot..."How do you balance everything"?  From an outsiders perspective it seems nearly impossible to do but somehow I manage to do it.  The word "everything" is relative...we all have categories that make up that word in the sense that we will be talking about it today.  And, I'm excited to share a bit more about how I balance everything in a way that enables me to be a successful business woman while wearing many hats.

First I must start with sharing that a few months back I was asked to be a Brand Ambassador for Vanity Fair lingerie, which is such an honor and I couldn't be more thrilled to have the opportunity to serve in this capacity.  The reason I share this is because Vanity Fair lingerie stands firmly behind empowering women to BE their very best and to DO their very best and I admire the history of their brand and their mission tremendously.  I strongly support everything that Vanity Fair lingerie stands for and I feel empowered being a part of a brand that supports and encourages women in this way.

As part of their ambassador program, I have had the opportunity to create content here on KBStyled to showcase how amazing this brand truly is...you can read my first couple of posts HERE & HERE.

With that being said, they asked me to share more about my personal success as a business woman and how I balance wearing many hats...so here we are today!

I'm going to start with a confession...my balance is about as balanced as walking a tight rope across the grand canyon.  It's wobbly, jagged, and totally unbalanced at times.  I can't tell you that I have everything organized because I don't.  In fact, I can be rather unorganized at times and you will find me procrastinating, which frequently leads to total chaos.

BUT...here is what I know...I am a successful VP in Human Resources for a large bank, I run a thriving brand that has seen tremendous growth within the past 2 years, and most importantly I am a Wife and a Mommy.  These are the primary hats that I wear on a daily basis and these are the roles that require as much balance as an unbalanced life will allow.  Calm waters or chaos...I manage it and I manage it well.

There is no recipe to success to share with you today, but I will share that my balance will be different from your balance.  Every successful woman must find what works for her.  For me, it is prioritizing my responsiblites in a way that always begins with what's most important.  My family will never move from the #1 spot on that prioritization list.  They will always come first.  I work my way down that list and ensure that I am giving 100% of myself when wearing each and every hat.  Sometimes the hats are on simultaneously but often times I try and seperate them out and focus on one role and one task at a time.

I don't think it is going out on a limb here to say that most all successful business women wear many hats piled high and we do it while climbing a curvy broken unbalanced ladder.  We are built to fill our plates to the brim and when we think we possibly can't take anything else on, WE DO.  My plate is ALWAYS filled to the brim but nothing ever falls off onto the table.

So here is what I would share with you...fuel yourself with a plate full of things that empower you and that feed your soul.  Don't be afraid to live an unbalanced imperfect life because there is a lot of success that will come out of imperfection.  Create a balance that works for YOU and that allows YOU to be your very best.  There is no script, no secret recipe for success, and no set schedule to follow...you write your own script, you create your own success, and you follow a schedule that works for you.

My personal success as a career woman is the result of a lot of hard work and A LOT of late nights!  Hey...this Momma can get a lot done when left to herself late at night with a computer in front of her. ;-)

I encourage you to never let the "unbalanced" moments discourage you because I've had many of those moments and they've only helped me be better along the way.  Figure out what works for you and stick to it.  AND don't worry if your daily routines don't reflect a perfectly planned out calendar within the pages of a planner.  I know we all aspire to be much more organized but life isn't perfect and neither is the path to becoming a successful business woman.

Thank you Vanity Fair lingerie for encouraging me to share more about my thoughts on being a successful business woman who wears many hats.  I'd love to hear from you all...how do you balance everything?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

New York & Company Holiday Gift Guide

*Today's post was in collaboration with New York & Company via Shopping Links.

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Can you believe that the holidays are upon us?!  Thanksgiving is truly right around the corner and Christmas is just under 6 weeks away.  I love this time of year...the holiday busyness gets me even more excited and when we are out and about seeing the holiday decor everywhere it just puts me in the spirit!

If you are feeling like me, then you are probably motivated to get your holiday shopping done!  I always make my list and then start checking it twice!  Santa would be proud. ;-)

And if you are REALLY anything like me, when shopping, you often times create your own holiday wish list to share with others AND you usually buy a thing, two, or three for yourself along the way.  I know, I know...it's the time to buy for others but I just can't help myself because the deals are just too good to pass up!

Today I'm partnering with New York & Company to share my top picks for holiday!  The pieces that I am sharing are not just great gifts for those amazing women in your lives but they are also great gifts for yourself.  Yes, I said that...gifts for yourself!

One of the first things that I picked out was this Queen Bee coffee mug!  Peter often time calls me the "Queen B" so I thought this mug was a perfect little gift for myself.  I also love this as a gift any and all "Queen Bee's" that you may know in your life.  It has a soft pink background and gorgeous foil lettering.  This is sure to make sipping coffee even more fashionable!

Secondly, I picked out a couple of pair of earrings that just screamed "HOLIDAY"!  They are so cheerful, sparkly, and gorgeous.  The multi-color gold druzy earrings are a great addition to the outfit I am wearing and the colorful statement earrings just remind me of how bright and cheerful Christmas is.  I know so many women who love fashionable accessories, as I am sure you do, and New York & Company has so many wonderful gifting options!

I also picked out this gorgeous gold clutch bag as an addition to the look I am wearing.  This little bag is not only a stand out but it is totally practical for carrying less.  Sometimes, less IS more!  Think holiday parties and New Year's Eve!  I personally think this bag makes a great addition to any lady's bag collection and because of its gold color, it will go with so much.  It is sure to elevate any holiday look!

Every year I end up buying myself a new pair of gloves and I could not resist these fun sleek black gloves with a poof accent!  How great are these?!  These are so stylish yet perfect for every day wear.  There is nothing boring about these beauties and they are sure to keep your hands warm while keeping your look put together and polished!

And how about this gorgeous outfit?!  This look is so holiday and perfect for wearing to any party that you have plans to attend! The embellished button down shirt fits like a dream and the shoulder detail is my absolute fav!  And this gold mesh skirt is funky, fun, and sophisticated all wrapped into one pretty package.  I love pairing a classic top such as a button down with a skirt that is a bit more edgy!  Wear a pair of great heels (I'm thinking red...even more festive) to elevate your look even more!  Wear the multi-colored gold druzy earrings and the gold bag for a finished, holiday party ready, look!

Last but certainly not least...this leopard print fur jacket!  It stops me in my tracks, that is how gorgeous it is!  Leopard jackets/coats are trending right now and this one is beyond perfect to wear throughout the holiday season.  Again, this jacket looks beautiful paired with your holiday looks but it is also a great option to style with jeans too!  This may just have to be a gift for yourself...I couldn't resist!

So tell me, who are you shopping for this holiday season and which item from today's gift guide is your favorite?!

Outfit Details

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Extending a special thank you to New York & Company and Shopping Links for collaborating on today's post.  It's collaborations like these that make KBStyled possible.

JTV.com Holiday Gift Guide

*This post was sponsored by JTV.com.  I was paid for this post and received JTV.com jewelry pieces as compensation.

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Holiday season kicks off with Halloween and now that Halloween is over, I can't help but think about Thanksgiving and Christmas, which are both right around the corner.  Time is just flying by and before you know it, we will be welcoming a New Year.

I've told myself that I will get all of my holiday shopping done early this year and I am going to try and stick to that!  I'm the type of person that waits to the last minute only to find myself stressed and hustling around to pick out those very special gifts.

I absolutely love picking out special gifts for my family, friends, and loved ones...I take a lot of pride in putting thought behind each gift.  Finding "that" special gift brings me so much joy!

This holiday season I will be shopping for some very special people on JTV.com.  There are several people in my life that love beautiful jewelry pieces just as much as I do and JTV.com has such a gorgeous selection.  Their abundant selection offers a variety of styles at very affordable price points. I also love how unique many of their jewelry pieces are...I have a running list of pieces that I have my eye on so I may just have to give Peter a few hints this holiday season.

I personally have bought/received pieces from JTV.com and I can tell you that their pieces are high quality and just as pictured on their site!  JTV.com offers excellent customer service as well, which is so important when picking out a piece of jewelry for someone special.

In today's post I am wearing a gorgeous pair of sterling silver diamond simulant earrings...this earrings are so stunning and they are great for everyday wear!  And can you believe that the holiday price for these earrings is under $40?!  At this price point, you can check several people off of your holiday shopping list.

I'm also wearing this brilliant Moissanite Fire™bracelet which is a star on its on or perfect for layering with a few other dainty bracelets.  And can we just talk about this absolutely STUNNING round & baguette white diamond necklace?!  I am totally smitten with this necklace...you have to see it in person to really get a feel for how beautiful this necklace is...it really is breathtaking!

Beyond these 3 beautiful pieces that I am wearing today, you must check out the rest of JTV.com's earring, bracelet, and necklace holiday collections.  As I mentioned, I am certain you will find "that" very special gift for "that" very special someone and you may just find a piece or two for yourself along the way.  There's nothing wrong with passing along a hint or two when it comes to your own personal holiday wish list!

What is on your holiday wish list this season?!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Open Back Sweater

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Wow...what a week it has been so far.  Donald Trump is our new President Elect.  I spent 48 hours on Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas (which was AMAZING and I can't wait to share more), and today is Veteran's Day.  What a week to remember.

Not to mention, it actually now feels like Fall in Nashville.  I'm pretty sure we have all been waiting for these cooler temps and they are finally here!  I have a lot of fun posts planned for KBStyled and I will be getting into holiday shortly so stay tuned.

In the meantime, today is all about this gorgeous grey open back sweater!  All business in the front and a party in the back!  Some of you may be intimidated by how open the back is and if you are, all you have to do is wear a cute lace brallete or even a cami/tank.  I personally will be wearing this Free People wine colored brallette when I wear this sweater again.  If you want to cover you entire back or wish for more warmth, this sweater is perfect for layering and you can wear anything under it.  The peek-a-boo back is so fun that it would even be cute if you had a striped top peeking out or even a solid color tee.  This would also look cute layered over a slip dress!

Are you adventurous when it comes to wearing a sweater or top like this?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by...HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Fall Floral Mock Neck Dress

Photography by Madi Flournoy Henderson

Sometimes a look just speaks for itself and you don't have to say much about it...this is one of my favorite Fall looks so far this season!

Many florals out right now are dark florals, which I love (believe me, I'll wear any and every floral) but what I love most about this one is that is has a light backdrop and the floral print pops!  With a mock neck and long sleeves, it's perfect for the season.

I've paired this dress with over the knee boots (these are my first EVER pair of over the knee boots and I LOVE them so much) and a utility jacket.  When wearing a dress like this, you may also wear a cardigan sweater with it and tights to keep a bit more warm.

You don't need much else...add a great bag as a complimentary accessory and you are good to go!

Do you also love Fall florals?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great start to your week!
